Things are in the works in the background but after a couple weeks off from golf I’m ready for next year
@golfscout and I played a ‘Mega-Match’ to finish Pool 7; given our limited time and difficulty finding times to play (I’ve been tied up weekdays, he’s been tied up weekends), we played 4 holes for the front match, 5 for the back match, and 9 holes for the whole match. Incredible morning for golf at Joe Louis with some surprisingly excellent condiddies.
Short game shenanigans ensued all over the course. @golfscout hit some fantastic drives to keep the pressure on. Bad experience for the viewers at home, however - that many leaf balls lead to a lot of cutaways back to JP Morgan Stanley ads.
Front - Noah 2up
Back - AS (Noah wins tie)
Match - Noah 3/2
@kmcswain @wseitz26 available this weekend for a round, weather looks good. Otherwise we can monitor the weather in the next couple of weeks.
I’m game for whatever works on Sunday.
Cool. I’m in West suburbs. Any thoughts on time/where?
Indifferent. Western burbs as well.
How’s 12:40 at Schaumburg golf club?
I’m in. Do I need to book anything?
Nope, all good.
I’m going to need you guys to vouch for me. I did something today I haven’t done in a while and played good golf during a match. My apologies to @jtooley08.
We had a blue bird day out at Schaumburg golf club and I started out red hot, hitting greens and making putts. That is of course once we found the ball in the leaves. I won the front 5&3 mostly thanks to the fact it seemed my ball was always finding the green. Three over on the front isn’t typical for me, but it was fun.
The wax wings quickly melted and my driver made the back more of a contest. We both settled in and battled the back to the seventeenth tee all square. I got a super lucky bounce that put me on the back of the green instead of the bunker which gave me a two putt par to go one up. We battled our way down 18, but I was able to hold Joe off.
I won the front, back, and match, but know that it won’t be the last time I tee it up with @jtooley08. The match was background noise to the beautiful day we enjoyed.
So no ace then?
Not today.
Goddammit. You were supposed to drop a point or two so that I would clinch mathematically without having to play another match.
Annnnnnd we are back people! Any matches not completed have been halved and we are moving on to our championship bracket.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your number one seed is none other than @nschumerth! He will square off against @bendersgame in the first round.
Next we have @wseitz26 vs @JwG3 in the 8 & 9 seeds respectively.
Folks @Wyclef is your number 5 seed, and he will have to take on the one and only @baldvinny.
Rounding out the top half of the Championship bracket we have @Mr.Sunday your number four seed, and number one candidate to change their handle to Mr. Sun_Day. The teacher will have his work cut out for him against @kmcswain.
Tune into my next post for the bottom half of our bracket, which is chock full of juicy matchups.
Folks we are back, but not without a quick word from our sponsor, March Mudness IV. People please support the cause and buy some raffle tickets.
Thank you, and we are back to our bracket rollout. The moment you’ve all been waiting for the 3 seed is actually @BigBird, but both fortunately and unfortunately for him, he will have to face the speed and charm of @rmbartell.
@andrewf vs @Ballgame is a match I want to see up close and in person!
@mlakota, I’m going to warn you right now, that old wood thing in @dflock24’s bag is not just for show. It’s a weapon.
We are now at that moment. It’s time to announce the final match. People I’m not exaggerating when I say I think they’ll write stories about this one. @dgolfman62281 your number 2 seed, will play the real @golfscout
If any of you want to have your match at the mudness slide into my DMs and I’ll make it work
@Ballgame is on IR? Fairly certain he could beat me on crutches.
@golfscout can’t play his match at Mudness because we are in an all-time vibes group with @delirioustim and @nschumerth.
Based on my calculations just now, half the matches would be able to happen at Mudness. Only 4 of the overall golfers are missing from the Mudness roster, but they’re all in different matches.
Edit: just saw Andrew’s post while typing this and my calculations hadn’t accounted for vibes. Well up to 4 matches possibly.
@Ballgame sorry to break dr. patient confidentiality, but how long are you on IR again?
The disrespect from the committee is serious motivation.
