As unfair as the current handicap system is to the LCP crowd, most events are going to at least play off 80% course handicap to make it possible for others to win. In that situation you definitely want people to have accurate indexes. I fully get that itā€™s not some (a lot) of peopleā€™s jam to keep a USGA index but if youā€™re going to play competitive golf of any flavor you kinda need it.

Yeah, again, I fully get that which is why I owned up to maybe missing out on the reason for the app to begin with. Which is on me.

Just trying to be more inclusive than exclusive. It would be cool if people were allowed on there to take part in the community, cheer on their friends, etc but require the handicap if you want to actually participate in the tournaments/matches.
