I don’t know where else to post this, but I’m excited as hell for the low cal event this weekend. We have had a few years of really great courses. Last year Soule Park, this year San Vicente outside of San Diego which was reno’d by Andy Staples (designed match play course at pga national)
Congrats to @RACDGLowCal on punching their tickets to Sweetens. We played three 9 hole sessions, the first being best ball and the others net stroke play. After playing the first session to a draw (each side won a match 5.5-3.5), the Southern Californians won the net stroke play sessions 106-108 and 109-114 (counting each team’s best three scores for each stroke play session). That’s right: net -1 on our soil, under our bright sun, in our oppressive heat. Great golf all around. It’s going to sting for awhile, and tomorrow will be the first morning in awhile where I won’t wake up with the hope of competing at Sweetens Cove, but it was a well earned victory. Most importantly: two great groups of players who love the spirit of the game.
I suppose I should congratulate @OhioAgainstTheWorld for their regional victory last weekend, even though I’d rather hate them forever and accuse them of all kinds of nefariousness.
