HOA in the light drizzle was just the Friday morning kick off i needed (@scagnetti didn’t need to rent out the whole course for the 5 of us, but that’s just the type of guy is is)
@Privatecollection 100% nailed the logistics, tee gifts and overall coordination (not your fault we played slow at Swope in the morning round…but it’s just not an all day golf event if you not finishing just after sunset, right?). And those medallions

@sundaybag had the course absolutely dialed in; absolutely amazing (may have watched the flyover and wild world of golf again after playing it to relive the shots); also, did I miss a memo - everytime I was between rounds at BCN Ben’s in the driveway shotgunning beers with his boys celebrating something (probably Traci’s birthday…if you know, you know).
This weekend was probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing golf. So glad I decided to join the Nest this past year and #getinvolved. To everyone I met and teed it up with, it was a pleasure competing/hanging with you all.
Do wanna give a big shout out to my @TheSupercell bros, the vibes were sky high from the minute we met. Also gotta give some props to my looper for the semis and championship @UncleWillie, had a great time with you on the bag.
@leftysauce I’ll be telling all my friends about our epic championship match, was the most tense and fun match I’ve played in a long time. Halving every single hole is not something that happens very often.
My only regret is not making an appearance at Gates wearing the championship chain. Tracy and Precious would’ve loved it.

Had a great time kicking the weekend off with @MikeRevak@Flex and @ChickPhilA. Love that our strategy of getting out ALL the bad shots at Oakwood proved successful. That range session afterwards got rid of all the demons Flex!
Hated to miss Sunday but the kids immune system timing remains undefeated in ruining my plans. Not shocking @Privatecollection@sundaybag and the NLU crew knocked another one out of the park!
As the body and mind finally begin to recover from this weekend, (92% recovery after a solid stretch of reds and single digits), I’d like to congratulate my team of exemplary individuals that rose to the occasion and knocked it out of the park. Each person had their moment to shine and needed a round to recover at times, but that’s just how it goes. The squad truly came together as a team and I couldn’t be more proud of you guys for the wire-to-wire victory!
That said, I’d like to pivot somewhat and throw some credit to the NLU squad for their incredible ability to create and build this golfing community into what it is today. I don’t think a single person stepped back home without a wild array of great things to say about the event and that’s all thanks to the hard work put in by each of you. It’s safe to say that any event that @Privatecollection has a hand in orchestrating is going to exceed expectations by the widest of margins!
I’m so thankful to be a part of this community and it’s been so much fun throwing back countless beers with each of you. Cheers!

This weekend was absolutely incredible, and I don’t think I’m going to say anything that hasn’t already been said. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put on the event, I don’t think it could have been more perfect! I’d attempt to tag everyone but I know I’d miss someone.
A couple of my favorite moments: All of us HCC boys shotgunning cold beers with @MerchCzar, competing with @leftysauce@DILLYD & @Jrob0822 all weekend, talking shit with @jimmay and the rest of the Canadian boys in between rounds at BCN, @BrianJLaurent being an absolute STUD looper, and finally trying to somehow beat @ElectricPhactory in the Ship’ were all some of the most fun moments I’ve ever had on a golf course. Congrats again! Meeting everyone from all parts of the world was pretty damn cool as well
Can’t wait to try to get back next year as well as having everyone down to our neck of the woods for a MEGA HCC event next year!

I will start by saying that I drove over 1600 miles and I still have no idea if a 13 hour drive is too much when a 5 hour flight (8 hour door-to-door) option exists. Both drives felt too long and not too long simultaneously, somehow, and whether that extra 10 hours is worth ~$500 remains a mystery. A true defining issue of our time and I will leave it for the historians to decide.
I joined the post-paywall Nest entirely for the message board. After almost a year, it is clear to me that the real life NLU golf community is an absolute fucking treasure. I had no idea what I was in for! Every time I get to play golf with you folks, whether it be casual local rounds or bigger competitive events, I walk away feeling super weird about certain parts of the online Nest experience (and my role in that). Being able to experience one of the signature blowout events will help that takeaway stick, and for me that’s a good thing.
Our entire team, led by yours truly in this way, played pretty poorly most of the time. But I am happy to report that this only reduced my enjoyment of the golf by 1% or so thanks to the incredible playing partners and venues. Putting the Swope greens was some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Seeing a bunch of straight up menaces dial it in when they needed it most was a sight to see, and we are making adjustments to our qualifying format accordingly. The artists formerly known as the Southwest Roost Runners (watch this space) will be back with a vengeance in 2023.
Everybody worked hard this weekend, but special thanks to @Privatecollection for her leadership and execution and @sundaybag for leading the crew that literally built the course we played Sunday.
My personal highlights: Friday AM kickoff at Heart of America, playing Oakwood with @Tibbs and wondering if his heart rate ever gets above 50, Busch Lattes and vibes with @Jrob0822, making shitty art with @fullbodyfix, Saturday night Ravens Corner brought to you by Old Bay with @Double_Bogey_Dave and @Tron, and making 3 on BCN#7 from the corner of the barn (hat tip @TBagg).
