2024 NLU Summer Festival: August 26th @ Colorado Golf Club

Walnut Creek
Commonground
Riverdale Dunes
Murphy Creek

These are the best public golf courses within range of Denver in my opinion. You wont have a bad time at any of these, unless you try to use the Murphy chipping area while the Olds are holding court over there

Yeah that one is less than great. I did have a hole out from a bunker on 17 for a birdie once so perhaps that mutes my distaste for 16.

My broncos country familia coming in heavy with the recs. Appreciate yall!

The simple and easy answer is CommonGround. Hard to beat despite all of this chatter.

Yeah the point was more that GVR is about $25-$30 more expensive for something you can get elsewhere. Their range/practice area tho are pretty top notch

I think a handful of us are going to try and secure a couple foursomes at Commonground. Think thereā€™s 5 of us PNW crew folk so we will need willing and able bodies. Goal is mid to late morning Sunday before or later Saturday.

Havenā€™t heard anyone looking to go play TPC Colorado at 8000 yds or Raindance at 8500.

Thought yā€™all were sickos.

Assuming there isnā€™t something put together beforehand, Iā€™ll certainly do my part in trying to help with tee times at CG, itā€™s a hard get even right at midnight the week before (mostly because when they open the times hasnā€™t been all that consistent - but I usually get like 1 time between 11a-1:30 for a 4some). Usually after 2 you can grab relatively easily as long as you are quick. The really only way to guarantee yourself the best times is to book early (90 days early) and pay the $100 fee. I am not sure if that gets applied towards your remaining fee or not (never done it) - nor do I really want to lol.

Iā€™ll do my part to grab a few tee times and post when/if I get any. I will say you can usually tee off at like 3 and still finish with darkness just creeping in. Sunset is usually around 7:30 and you get about 15 minutes before you canā€™t see after it

Count me in for either of those times!

Iā€™m looking at playing a course on the RTJ Trail in Muscle Shoals, AL next week that goes to 8,000 yards. And 8,000 Alabama yards, I have to imagine, is good bit more golf course than TPC CO or Raindance can hope to me.

(Mind you I donā€™t plan to do anything other than laugh at those tees.)

I watched ZB get to the front edge of the 700yd par 5 at TPC in two.

Itā€™s a paper tiger.

Sure the tees were up and the wind was down but still, a couple of decent shots tbh.

Itā€™s the 263 yard par 3 that follows that gets you.

Honestly you were already included lol

I think a couple of us are going to just do the 90 day period. It opens at the end of May. I would hope it applies to your greens fee or is refundable or something. I will call and confirm because paying an extra $100 to secure a spot, while convenient, stinks if thatā€™s the case.

Definitely worth it - I would assume it would go towards your fee (or is just your fee since itā€™s $20 more than the standard fee). Just to note it is $100 per person not per tee time

Super jealous of you guys, just confirmed Iā€™m in town that whole week too. Might join for one of these pre rounds. Could potentially get people out at Cherry Hills but it would be 1 or 2 people max.

The Aloha Crew is a bunch of softies who want 18, carts and umbrella drinks when pau.

Itā€™s $100 and part of the greens fee. So booking a foursome is $400 all included. But nothing extra
