2023 NLU Texas Cup (still) at Pine Dunes - May 5th-7th

Mostly likely not … they’ve been pretty unwilling to allow us that. @SaveMuny has the latest.

Sounds like we’re gonna need a bunch of uncrustables for the trip.

Pizza this year instead of the bbq Friday night?

I have no interest in asking anyone to cook on that grill again - the DFW guys are legends for putting up with it the last two years.

@SaveMuny is kicking around some ideas, but base case will be either pizza/bbq, or the burger bar again from the grill. The burgers were NOT good, but there’s a lot to like about the massive amount of flexibility that brings - no one has to front a bunch (more) money, eat whenever you’re hungry, and no cleanup.

straight to the gulag

Lol, microwave only like a true degenerate

Whatever is easiest seems like the plan. The mediocre burgers still get us fed on time. The 10pm -12 am shots are what gets you.

shots after “rehydrating” with beers

Shots for net par? (this was my favorite from last year in whatever post it was in here … I could NOT stop laughing)

I started getting quotes from food trucks. Much to my surprise, Pine Dunes does have some rules, which seems to be, ‘buy our stuff.’

I am going to ask [nicely] one last time if they will make an exception for what has to be their best customers three years in a row.

Since I love golf and also complicating things (so says my w…), my other thought was to have each city represent.

That is, in the spirit of the city beer exchange in year 1, we could do a BBQ exchange. Each city brings about 6 lbs of meat, and we make magic happen.

I think Saturday we are stuck with their food, which is fine.

More to come. I’d say let’s avoid grilling in the darkness again. Didn’t an opossum try to help man the grill last time?

There’s no telling what lives in that grill when not in use.

It looks like they have a BBQ option on their catering menu. Will it be worse than lowly Bill Millers and Papas? Almost guaranteed. Will it get us fed and prevent @therealmarkymark from getting Grill herpes, well that would be up to him.

As a newby to the rooming situation down there, my question would be what the reheating process looks like. Would we have to reheat all of this incredible cue in the microwave, or could we figure out a heating process on this faux grill I’ve heard about for years?

we could cycle people into various rooms to reheat single paper plates in the tiny microwaves. WCGW?
