Episode 1000 of the NLU pod went up earlier. I think there is overlap from the 10 year anniversary that the boys did in 2023(?) but is a fun listen so far.

Favourite guest - Max Homa has been great over the years but I remember listening to the stonecutter story on the train home from work and being impressed with his storytelling and vulnerability

Prediction - TC calling out Ludvig for the 2023 Ryder Cup after the 2021 Ryder Cup

Really enjoyed listening to this one. It definitely made me realize how long I’ve listened to the pod.
Funniest moment: Monty the custard king
Favorite Guest: I’ve always enjoyed Padraig
Favorite Bit: Soly and Big Tone/DJ and Tron just getting after his ass constantly about it. Close second is the Randy now beginning to call out TC about Tommy.
Prediction: Everytime TC predicts Tommy to win. It’s truly getting sad at this point until Tommy closes one out.

Funniest moment: Elk and Shigeki Maruyama getting into blows with Bubba Watson during a round, followed up with Shigeki writing a letter to the commissioner explaining the event.
Favorite Guest: Rory
Favorite Bit: Bit of a deep cut, Neil trading away the first pick/Hovland to Soly during their FredEx cup draft one year.
Prediction: Big Randy listing 10 different top players during the “who will not win” portion of major previews.

The Pebble Beach pod a couple of years ago when DJ chimed in with the “so did you run into Macklemore?” or something on those lines still absolutely gets me.

This isn’t a specific moment and is VERY niche, but something that gets me every single time is whenever DJ Pie or anyone goes, “Howeva…”
I have inadvertently implemented it into my language and my wife thinks that I’m crazy when I make myself giggle after saying it.

Truly wild as I listen to 1000 thinking back on how long I’ve been listening. I still think one of my favorite pods that were done where the precursor to the current deep dives when Soly went through the deep history of the Ryder Cups to the rest of the guys not knowing what was coming next. Not to mention the trap draw Tiger history from Tron that inspired those.

Such a great episode to think back to some great moments of the past 1000 podcasts.
Two of the times I laughed the hardest that they didn’t bring up: the 2022 Masters Thursday live show where Randy read off names of players that Tiger beat with the somber music and the eBay pod when DJ rolled out the stencils that he found.

- funniest moment: They covered it with Randy, I died laughing with the McIlroy eulogy when I watched it in real time, subscribe to golf pass in lieu of flowers is a hall of fame line.
- Favourite guest / podcast: Rory / the Majors deep dives Soly & KVV do every year
- favourite bit: I get a massive kick out their Jon Rahm impersonations (The Butcher/Buoy) and Neil doing the horse whinnying.
- best prediction: How early they seemed to be on a rival golf league forming and stealing players? It just didn’t feel like it was being reported on at the time until it actually happened, but NLU was ringing alarm bells earlier than most on that one if memory serves me right.
It’s actually wild how this podcast exposed to me how long I’ve been listening to the NLU pods. I’ve legitimately consumed at least 90% of their content? It’s absurd.

Favorite moment: Randy reading off names of everyone Tiger beat in the opening round of the Masters a few years ago over piano eulogy music. Hilarious.
The end of the Tiger interview was great too. Soly’s entire response was:
