Wanna travel to Michigan for it?

Do I want to come to Michigan, a place I have only been one other time, where everyone told me to get the fuck out of there immediately because my band played in Flint? Not particularly.

Would I for a blade meetup?

You better believe it. (If some of the OGs made it as well, naturally.)

I am open to figuring out an ND solution, while also realizing it’s ND and I don’t even want to be here, let alone travel to here.

I hate ND as much as the next guy, but the blade meetup there was truly fucking amazing and I would be back there in a heartbeat if it was had up there again.

Illinois is the perfect middle of the country location, or at least that’s what people are saying :eyes:

You volunteering to organize it?

Sounds fun. Been willing to try and organize before just shockingly never get traction for such a tourist hot spot.

Played a show in Flint. Everyone there, including the bands and promoter, told us to leave immediately after the show. They seemed borderline concerned we even agreed to be there.

So we got a hotel room in Pontiac and, as we were pulling in, 7 or 8 cars were fleeing the cops and jumping curbs and shit to get out of the parking lot. Pretty sweet, actually.

I have nothing against Flint or Michigan. The residents of Flint in 2006 (ish) really did.

Sounds like you are due for a return trip. But also damn that’s a wild story lol

Fun story to tell now, a lot less fun when your whole livelihood is in a shitty trailer and worse van parked right in a formerly extremely active crime scene. Anxious night, that’s for sure.

For sure. I’ll say this, things have improved a lot around here since 2006. The golf is really good. There’s a lot of Bladetheists that would be thrilled to show you around!

What hotel in Pontiac?

This was 19 years ago and I was more concerned about starving to death on the 12 dollars I still had in my checking account with 9 nights left in the tour.

You will be happy to know I somehow left a wedge at the sim this week!

This is fair. Just curious, as the Highlander motel immediately popped to my mind.

Did my first real attempt at the bladey 80 today. New course to me, River Hills in lovely Valrico FL, probably bit off a bit too much with yardage at almost 6700 yards. Gave it a run, fell just short with an 82. Doubles on 9 and 13 ultimately did me in. But I look at it this way, I shot 89 last weekend with my full bag of normal clubs. 82 with just blades was a fucking blast. Won’t be my last time attempting this.

Here’s the bag for the attempt, 681T irons, PM grind wedges and the Nike Method Origin Rors putter.

I respect the aggression, but sheeeesh.

Good round.

Yeah was a long yardage for the whites, most of them were just in front of the tips. Luckily it was playing firm and fast.

2 iron was working too, which made it easier. Let one of the randoms in the group hit it and thought he was gonna run away with it. Think he hit it 270 off the tee, dude was a player
