Definitely a new NLU sponsor. Soly mentioned it surreptitiously on a recent pod in his ad read voice that they were going to be talking about them more coming very soon.
I have had a Whoop for a couple months, but honestly I have not been very impressed with it. Someone here help me figure out what I am missing! Haha.
I will start with remembering to wear it.
Watching PGA Tour live and heard one of the announcers ask âDoes JT have a band up there on his bicep?â âNot sure - but weâll investigate.â
I havenât listened yet but if you didnât catch it on their social media, the WHOOP podcast recently had JT on. Rory pod was enjoyable
Havenât caught it yet either - but looking forward to it.
Pretty big stuff for WHOOP
Interested in hearing what your thoughts are on Whoop vs. Apple Watch after owning both and using for a while.
It is my understanding that Nick Whatneyâs Whoop strap identified a respiratory anomaly and then he got retested and came up positive for the virus. He was asymptomatic and had passed a daily temperature check along with the 'rona test 2 days prior.
Yep. He had a spike in his respiratory rate which is one of the metrics that Whoop tracks.
I have also taken the plunge! Definitely would be cool to be part of the team Refuge and Whoop u/ns are the same for me! @JCO
Iâll take care of this shortly if someone else doesnât beat me to it.
One pre-print study with a small sample size that hasnât been peer reviewed. I will remain skeptical for the time being
I, for the life of me, havenât been able to get âenough sleepâ for the past week since I got it. Granted I trade off child care every other night with my wife, but my body just wakes me up at 3-4am no matter what time I get to bed the night before and havenât gotten anything over 1h15m of deep sleep. Hoping that after a month I can see a trend in activities that will increase my deep sleep.
Interestingly when I go to bed after 10mg edible or stoned off my bonce on a Friday I actually get close to double the REM sleep as normal. I kind of expected the opposite.
On the flip side of that, I woke up last Sunday knowing I had a glorious 18holes ahead of me for fathers day. I also woke up with my worst recovery score yet after 4hrs of sleep (thanks kidsâŚ) in the red at 27%. Debated taking a cart knowing this fact, but figured I would see what happened. I normally walk 9 holes most weekend mornings and practice 3-4 times a week at home or at the range.
Granted it was a little hot and humid out, but at the turn I felt like death. Dragging my feet and little nauseated.
On the days where my recovery has been good so far I have also felt great.I will also add that itâs been eerily accurate at recognizing the fact that Iâm practicing golf just based on elevated heart rate. Impressive stuff
so the big thing for me has been getting a better bed, i just feel more rested and sleep feels more efficient if that makes any sense
Got a new mattress with our trump bucks this year - itâs glorious. But because my wife and I trade off every other night, whoever is not parenting is in the guest room upstairs.
I really donât expect to see any significant sleep improvement until our 3yo decides to sleep through the night
yeah i bought the purple mattress, its amazing, ive been spending the last 2 weekends at the bellagio and i found i got much better sleep quality on the purple
The big thing for me has been limiting alcohol. Had a 17% and 14% recovery this past weekend!
My wife and I bought a purple two years ago November and we had some trouble getting pregnant at first. Based on her tracking apps and the doctor, we conceived first try on the new mattress. I should be on a commercial or something.
haha this is hilarious. Congrats!
Go see if theyâll pay for your kids college tuition or somethingâŚ
