100% on this…the fact that they can’t fix/deal with the Golf is mind boggling. They should be able to analyze data a little better. No reason riding in a golf cart for 4 hours should give me higher strain that a 1/2 marathon (that is real for me on one weekend).
There’s a lot of external factors that I’ve noticed too that affect strain scores. Stress being a big one, you may stress yourself out more during golf, driving up a strain score then lifting. Also weather (heat specifically) and humidity.
I’ve posted up at the top but I did a OTF class which included lifting and running and it matched pretty damn close my apple watch and OTF bicep band.
Not swearing by the Whoop data, just commenting on some things I’ve heard go into a strain score.
My whoop sensor died over the weekend and won’t recharge or connect in any way so they’re going to replace it. Of course this week I’ve gotten a tremendous amount of sleep that isn’t getting logged.
How old was it?
How do they handle upgrades to a new/improved sensor, since you get the sensor “free” with your subscription?
Don’t you just feel everything was a waste if it doesn’t get logged?
I did a workout today when mine was recharging at home. Felt like a waste in some ways.
I’ve heard upgrades V3 to V4 are “free” as long as your have a subscription.
Again, you’re paying for their service not their hardware.
I got it in June. All they’ve told me is that a new sensor is on the way and to remove everything from it and send only the sensor back once the new one arrives.
Yes. I was on a bachelor party and wanted to see how i recovered. I had two decent beach walks and a round of golf this weekend plus all the beers. I almost don’t want it back since I missed on this data
I received my new sensor and they included a new strap which is great because mine was never the same after I got flour all over it.
Apparently shredding a few cups of cheese for today’s macaroni is as strenuous as walking 18 because I’m off to a hot start today.
Figured today might be a good day to compete for the top spot in the Refuge group but over 40 of y’all are already at 10 strain before lunch. Lots of cheese shredding going on.
“cheese shredding”. yeah sure
Come at me bro.
Ran a thanksgiving 10k with a friend. Lol
Happy thanksgiving
So overall you guys would recommend Whoop as a worthwhile purchase? Seems to be mixed feedback on whether the data is accurate, and therefore helpful vs frustrating given the price tag.
Yes, I have focused more on things beneficial to my health, particularly sleep. Seems like that shouldn’t be hard to do without a whoop, but it is a very effective tool to nudge you and change behaviors (I drink less)
I also saw Matthew Walker give his Ted talk on why sleep is your superpower (it’s on YouTube) and that scared the living shit out of me as someone who regularly worked 12-15 hours a day and got little sleep
Agree with a lot of @tencentgolf said. I got Whoop in July and since then it’s been night and day difference. Granted Whoop didn’t do anything but seeing the data on paper helped me and especially helped me be more accountable. My sleep has been outstanding and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. The accuracy isn’t that important to me. I know it’s in a good range. Could all this be achieved by motivation and accountability, sure. On a personal basis I owe whoop a lot for where I am today vs the beginning of summer.
I have found it very beneficial, especially from the standpoint of sleep and recovery. I’ve really been able to optimize my sleep and understand what by body does and doesn’t like.
25% off the 12 month extension today, which makes it the same monthly price as the 18 month extension. Just info. Carry on…
Sweet. Thanks! Good excuse to extend and save some cash.
Man, today’s Black Friday workout was tough. Was thrown off of my routine this week and I paid for it.
