Forgive me if this has been covered, but I have a question about the strain calculation.

Yesterday, my Day Strain was about 6 over the course of the day, I then did a treadmill workout in the evening, which was auto-detected and resulted in a strain of 10 for the activity. Yet, my total Day Strain was only 12.

I can’t figure out why (I would have expected the total for the day to be 16). Anyone have an idea?

strain isn’t linear, so it’s not as simple as saying you had “4 strain” walking around the house and then did a “12” strain workout and it should be 16, it’s more of the 12 included your base strain… if that makes sense.

That’s how I understand it; but I could be way wrong.

I had a 8% after a night of wine at the NIT and a 16% after last night in New Orleans.

This trip may kill me.

I finally woke up in the green today. Been in the yellow for a week straight. Felt good to see my HRV at 123

Did 12 when I initially signed up. I will extend the longest timeframe next time especially if there is a Black Friday deal.

Do you know if that is something they do? I will get charged here in two days but might be worth waiting for if that’s the case.

Some googling tells me last year was 25 percent off but only for the 12 month membership which would make it the same price as an 18 month.

I was wondering if my Whoop would auto-detect my activity, but it didn’t today (played 18 holes). Can I retroactively add an “activity”? Or must I “start” an activity when I start it on the app for non-obvious things (it auto-detected soccer last week)?

You can add it. You just need to add the start time and finish time.

I found that after a handful of golf times and workout times that WHOOP learned the patterns and then started to auto detect.

But it took 5-6 manual entries to kickstart that.

Thanks. I won’t be tagging “golf” if I’m riding in a cart. It’s going to be awhile before it auto-detects, I think, because we’re just about done with golf now.

Be lame. I stop looking at screens around 8, I’m usually in bed by 8:30, read for 30 minutes and I’m out. Up around 5:30.
