Whoop Band | NLU Group Code: COMM-NLUNLU

I spent the first 10 days with it on my left wrist and the accuracy was spotty at best for me. When I ran with it on it was constantly 20-30 beats higher than a chest strap which is ridiculous and it had my heart rate really high while swinging a golf club. A strain of walking a flat 18 holes should not be 15.

I have now spent 24 hours wearing it on my upper left arm and FOR ME the accuracy and precision is like night and day. Exact same Avg HR on my run this morning as my chest strap. Sitting around its much more stable and believable. And the tracking during my round of golf today was exactly as I suspected and the strain was much more believable for golf.

Everyone is different due to skin and body differences, but I like it on my upper arm. Feels more comfortable too.

Yeah this is the biggie for me since I’ll theoretically be wearing it all the time. Good to know. I know the wrist will be reasonably comfortable but would vastly prefer keeping the band out of the way on my bicep as long as it’s as/more comfortable, and the fact that it’s more accurate at least for some is a bonus.

I have really struggled to hit my daily strain targets since I started wearing the strap. For the first time since March I played some pickup hockey today. I couldn’t believe the difference between my strain today and my usual numbers from daily activity and 30-45 minute Peloton rides. Guess I have to start skating more!

Maybe Kenny Powers was on the something:

Counterpoint: Time to push harder and longer on the peloton?

Yea that’s what I’m thinking as well. Maybe not harder because I think I’m close to maxed out there but probably time to start mixing in some 60 minute classes. Working a desk job all day and working out hard for 30 minutes probably isn’t a formula for success.

I’ve used the stain coach sleep since I got it a few weeks ago. I figure the algo has to get tuned up before it knows I’m asleep. I’ll wear it on my right wrist too golfing but I have gotten some 16-18 strain walking nine…

I’ve been really wanting to get a whoop but I mainly use a apple watch. Anyone using both?

I have both. I don’t like having both but but the data from Whoop is far superior in my opinion.

I think the first tweet capture the difference well

I hate the Apple Watch for that reason

So day Three of wearing my Whoop was today.

Friday–heavy circuit/cardio class then drove to Athens, GA where I spent three hours loading a moving truck.

Saturday finished loading truck, drive to Sandy Springs the spend 3-4 hours unloading then assembling, moving, etc.

Today was more moving items then drove home.

Fridays strain was 6.7. Saturday was 4.2. Today is 0.0.

Seem right?

Seems like your strain should be a little higher but you gotta give it a couple weeks to calibrate.

Just placed my order. Looking forward for it to arrive this week and dive into this. I have been sleeping horribly lately and always feel like my heart starts racing when I try to fall asleep. Hoping this should help out.

Jumping on the whoop train after I have just been getting terrible sleep.
Should I expect good results?

Unless you are able to pinpoint something that is causing the poor sleep as far as an activity or lack there of, you might just be picking something and hoping that’s it. This, coming from a person who has gone through 4 sleep studies throughout my life.

This is some testament to the power of advertising. Sorry to admit but a thing on your wrist isn’t going to magically make you sleep better, you still need to do the work and figure out why you can’t sleep. Whoop can only quantify how poorly you sleep.
