My wife has one and likes it. But I have not used it before.

Never seen this ā€œwelcome backā€ pop up before :joy:

I umm and ahh sometimes about whether to keep the whoop, but when I’m sick I really value the information it gives me.

Caught the VID this week — cracking start to the holidays! Observing the impact on my vitals helps me to feel okay about the journey and gives me some confidence about how much longer to expect it to hang around.

Hey whoop guys, I’m an Apple Watch wearer and use Bevel to track my strain and workouts.

I want to get something equivalent to the 10 strain challenge that Neil does, but don’t really know what I should set my target on.

What do you all typically average on strain for the day and what does that day look like for activity?

Everyone is different, but if I get a decent bit of incidental walking in and go for a 3.5km (2.2-mile) run at about 5:45m/km pace, I’ll hit 10 for the day.

If I do a full body, seven-exercise heavy weights workout I’ll hit 13-14.

If I swim one-minute 50m laps for a kilometre (20 laps) I’ll get to 10 for the day.

Walking 18 holes of golf will get me to 10 if the temperature is over about 22°C or the course has some decent elevation change.

That’s hugely helpful. Thank you! On a ā€œstandardā€ day where I work at a desk and take the dog on two 1ish mile walks I end up around 18-20% strain.

If I play hockey or do a long weight lift I end up at 70%.

Using your metrics I’d probably need to be over 35 or 40 to equal a 10 on whoop.

I’m a newish whoop user…. I understand everyone’s stats are individual but I basically get 10 strain with my day to day activities even without a workout.

Has anyone noticed if they basically get to 10k steps they’ll also get to 10 strain?

How new are you? It takes awhile to figure out your body.

The answer for me is no. I don’t get anywhere close to 10 without doing something active.

Day to day activities with no workout usually gets me between 4 and 5 strain.

As for steps, there’s been a few comments here about how that seems to be overcounting. I don’t look at it very often but checking it out right now it says I average 14k steps per day which is definitely not correct (probably half that). My app says that feature is still in beta so maybe they’re still refining it?

I noticed the steps are way overcounted, basing it on my iPhone steps.

I averaged 11,800 steps in 2024.

I’ve been using the whoop since about thanksgiving. Maybe it’s still calibrating.

Same. Maybe just to low 6s if I walk a lot or it’s really hot. But no higher.

I’m trying to decide if I’ll keep whoop before mine re-ups in March. I feel like I’ve improved my sleep schedule to the point I don’t even use it to make one, nor do really use it for fitness (using Everfit currently), just feel like it’s something I’ve done for the last few years but am not getting as much out of

anyone else notice a fall off in battery life? Used to be able to get like 4 days out of a charge now I feel like I’m charging every other day

Have felt the same way over the last month or so. Used to get a week+ out of a fully charged strap, and now I feel like I get 3 days tops before I’m below 20%.

Following the Apple playbook and forcing us to a new version coming soon?

I just cancelled mine which was due for re-up in February.

Felt like I hit a plateau where it wasn’t necessarily giving me any new insights after helping me get baselines. Things really settled in nicely and just felt routine to me after learning a lot over the years of use. Not a bad thing. Just felt like it ran it’s course for me.

If I were doing some specific training goal or something it might be worthwhile, but I am not really doing anything experimental so to speak where it’d would be cool to see HRV evolution etc.

how often are there new devices? Do users generally get the free ugprade? I’ve only had the 4.0, so I haven’t ā€œlived throughā€ a new device yet

Honestly the only reason I didn’t cancel when I was coming for reup (other than the fact that I got zero email notice that my renewal was happening until I got a charge on my credit card for the year which feels scummy) was that I really like the haptic alarm

realistically if I couldn’t pay for this with HSA I’m not sure if I would have renewed

Same spot I’m in. Who knows maybe that’ll change at some point but leading up to renewal just not feeling that.
@ThatDuffGuyPat see and I love the haptic alarm too. I’m really gonna miss that. But I don’t need to pay ~$250 for an alarm

Is there an NLU code for ordering? I’ve been curious but the alarm may be what’s selling me on trying it
