J&J yesterday afternoon. Nausea and fatigue are brutal.

So day 1 of the cumulative strain month. Feeling pretty good at 12.5. Let me check my ranking in the Refuge group…

Thats P78, mate.

Yep, 12.9 booted me all the way to … 70th place.

Tough scene.

I froze my ass off at a baseball game. So we’re sitting super low.

What sort of average strain do we think it’s gonna take to win this thing?

19+

Sleeping well (high performance) and shit recovery (yellow). I’m drinking an insane amount of water and eating well before I go to sleep. Da fuqqq is going on fellas

Got the J&J vaccine at 3pm Wednesday. Interesting sleep Thursday night. Huge spike in respiratory rate.

I was right at 7 yesterday. Already took myself out of contention.

Whoever can keep up an average strain of 19+ over a 30 day period may need to rest for the whole month of May.

Yellow isn’t shit recovery. Yellow is your ā€œstandard baselineā€. It really needs to be a different color.

But

Green - push extra hard on workouts.
Yellow - do normal workouts.
Red - think active recovery.

That’s the idea behind the whoop. Understand when your body is ready to be pushed.

I had a slow start yesterday.

But I’m shooting for an average of 15-18 a day going forward and we’ll see what happens.

Worst case; you get more fit.

Not seeing a downside lol

Very true. I personally have a hard time breaking the 15 strain mark, which I think I have only done a handful of times since I’ve been on Whoop. This may be a motivator to increase my cardiovascular strength.

Not sure how you train; but I’m normally a cycling gui and found that it takes 1 hour plus on the bike to get a ā€œgoodā€ strain score.

I picked up running? 30+ minutes at a good pace? Easy 15+ strain.

Just mess around with stuff til you find a good one for you!

I try to implement cardio 1-2 times a week into my routine, whether that be a spin class or actual cycling now that it is warming up. The rest of my days are focused on strength and yoga, which don’t yield much strain.

I caution too much with too much cardio because I can lose weight very easily. Could just be a matter of adding more cardio into my routine and eating a bunch more.

I typically do a strength work every day. Add in a HIIT workout on Tuesday and Thursday with a group of coworkers. On days when I’m in the green, I’ll add in a run to get to my peak strain score. I tend to use running on weekends as well to get to my strain goal.

I meant shit yellow bc it’s always just a few points above red. I’m either green as hell or barely yellow
