Where did you play this week? (Part 2)

Looks like your heart was dreaming it was running a marathon last night. God speed brother, nothing a little hair of the dog won’t cure.

Arcadia bluffs is incredible…. It’s a real bummer it was a 6 hour round, just can’t stand slow play

Also hot take,
The loop is fucking awesome. Played the black routing. It’s so cool
It exists

The Rail is awesome. Cool variety of holes and the finishing stretch is fun.

Yeah, we enjoyed it, especially for $32. We thought the front 9 was better overall, aside from 8, that’s just a dumb hole. But yeah, the last couple holes were good.

Played The Club at Indian Creek in Omaha, NE, the home of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Pinnacle Bank Championship.

Really enjoyed the layout, the plush green rye, and being outdriven 70-100 yards by @QMany :bomb: :rocket:

Couldn’t have asked for a more delightful morning at Hickory Sticks GC in California, KY (just SE of Cincinnati). Sub 4 hour round with a good friend on a perfect morning, and holed a pitch from about 35y out on 13 that I’ll remember for a while - much more memorable than that abysmal Bengals game I just watched.

Played that early August. Arguably my favorite course.

I was last group out and played as a single, played each hole twice, played it backwards (what would be red)

Probably played 40-50 holes in 4 hours and finished right behind group in front of me

One of the funnest golf experiences I have ever had

Compare that to sitting in between groups for 6 hours with no where to go at Arcadia. Fuck slow play, pick better tees, play ready golf, don’t be a scumbag

My only regret about the loop is that I forgot to buy a hat before the round and the pro shop was closed after. We went out at 4:00 and had a group in front of us and then had staff groups behind us so we couldn’t play them backwards and forwards. Still an absolutely awesome experience and I love the fact that I could putt for great distances away and not have to use my wedges which I’m awful with!

More importantly, what’s your opinion on runza?

My Runza experience is incomplete. I legit got the meat sweats the night before due to overconsumption of beef over the course of our Landmand trip, so I took some Pepto and a nap. When I heard chicken tenders were an option at Runza I was sold.

The spicy ranch was a good condiment.

Would not call that an incomplete! Their chicken tenders are very good for fast-food, they have a southwest chicken salad with those and the spicy ranch I get a decent amount if I eat there. We’ll have to freeze some runza’ to send to the sunshine state.

Had to go up to CT, for a funeral and got to play just 9 holes, but it was on the course just down the street from where my father grew up and played as a junior.
Orange Hills Country Club in Orange CT. When he played there it was only a 9 hole track so I just played the front 9.

On the opposite side of the country and the opposite side of the weather spectrum, NY had their Roost major at one of my favorite munis, Keney Park in Hartford, CT. The night before the area got dumped on with rain but, while the course was wet, the day started off with no issues…

Then as my group was making the turn the sky started rumbling, the sky’s opened up and the lightening made its presence known. We waited it out in the bar for about an hour and the lightening passed but the rain stuck around. Some brave souls made their way back out there to complete the round with ponds in the fairways and rivers through the greens. In the end, we crowned a champion who some in here may know, Mr @MerchCzar himself (pictured below with his fishing rod), Officially stamping his ticket to the NIT.

A few days late, but I wanted to write about my experience playing Spring Valley CC in Salem, WI this past Friday. This course has been on my list to see for some time and I was happy to take some time off to go play with my dad. I’m sure others in the refuge have written about this Langford & Moreau gem, so I won’t go into much detail. Happy to report that all the rumors are true. The course has good bones, is a great value, etc I was worried my Dad wouldn’t enjoy it, but I was happy to hear he thought it was a fun layout and wished the course was a closer drive by the end of the day. I played poorly, which was frustrating, but my thoughts that evening and in the following days were of the course and not so much on my play. Finishing in about 3 hours was a treat as well. Already thinking about a return visit.

Truly a famine and feast weekend. Played a wonderful round at Everett Country Club with local stick @fishtopher18. Was eaten alive by the trees

Then transitioned to the always wonderful Wine Valley for an all world event with the PNW Crew boys.
