wait what? wild week
Which course is second image? Im sure im exposing ignorance here. Definitely needs more artificial waterfalls, I can tell you that.
I’ve been on a pretty mad run for quite some time now so that’s basically normal at this point (admittedly I am one lucky bastard). Honestly glad fucking winter is almost here but I got Boonsboro GC in Virginia tomorrow morning. ![]()
good last week+, minus the part where my company eliminated my position!

Cedarbrook Country Club Blue Bell, PA
Had an absolute pleasure of a time yesterday at Cedarbrook. With the exception of our host our foursome played horrible. I hope I get a chance to play again. I didn’t get enough pics… weather was pristine!
Took a trip to WI last week.
Played Erin Hills:
Lac la Belle (again), Eagle Springs:

And finished with a 3:30 round (8:18 to 11:48 I mean, not 3:30pm) at Brown Deer before driving home.
Closed out the season hosting a group of 6 buddies and @jkody at Windsong Farm. 2 nights on property, 5 rounds of golf, glorious fall weather and a lot of laughs.
Looks spectacular!
Played a hickory event at CC of Scranton. I read up on it. Watched the NLU Crash Course video and a few other #influencer videos. Studied the Google maps, and BlueGolf course tour feature. I thought I was prepared. I was not.
Those Walter Travis greens need to be preserved at all costs. Future generations of golf course architects ( or AI golfbots or whatever is coming) need to know and understand how to use slopes and contours on and around the greens to extract the most fun possible out of an already great golf course.
It wasn’t just that Travis emptied his bag of tricks, it’s that he used the right trick (or combination of tricks) on each green to compliment the hole that green was on. It was like a symphony. False fronts, backboards, sideboards, ball splitters, run-offs , plateaus, swales, humps, ridges, you name it - but never heavy handed or (God forbid) “unfair”.
Sometimes, the only way to get your ball close is to land short of the green and run it on. Sometimes you have to take on a bunker if you want a short look for birdie, or you can play away from the pin and accept the 2-putt. Sometimes, there’s an obvious slope you can use to get close to the pin, but if you’re going to try to use that slope, you had better hit that slope, or par (which I know is irrelevant) is going to require something exceptional.
Long story short. This is a fantastic golf course and I inquired about the non-resident member option because it seems like the more you play it the more fun it will get.
High/low theory in full effect this week.
3 days at Colorado Golf Club last week. Pristine and as fun as usual.
Followed that up back at home with a round at Avon Fields with my little man. Lot of fun, not quite as well conditioned…
Such a good twofer. Played them both in the last 15 months.
York Golf and Tennis this AM. Lots of compliments on the @Geaugolf Celtics

I love that course so much. Played with an absolute character of a caddy from there in a scramble last week. Big Irish dude named Rowan. 6’5”, +3 HCP that absolutely mashed it
I went even par on the first 4 holes, perfect drive on 5, then my golfing ability left my body for the rest of the day after a chunked wedge.
Been going to York in the summers my whole life, somehow have never got out there. Very jealous, hope it was a good one!
