Wasted one of my cleanest driving days at Syd, burned several edges with a putter that had never seen grass before (so apparently it is the user despite the flatstick), didn’t get the quota needed. Guessing @Ballgame stays in the playoffs.

Highlights: sandy par on 2 and a birdie on 5.
Lowlights: shank from position A on 4 for double and a 4-putt on 6.
Wild Card: Our group getting whistled at on 8 tee by a runner
First hoodie golf round of the fall was a delight.

We are officially done with the Quota season! Just waiting on @delirioustim @WillyK and new dad ted @Ballgame to post their scores and I’ll announce the season winner.
We only have 2 more weeks of WBC left and for those not in the playoffs I highly recommend yall get weird these next two weeks.
@Cswartz and I will be doing a speed golf round next week. Essentially running around the golf course for time and score and seeing who can beat who. Last time we did this I got around in 30 minutes with 45 so my total was 75 (every minute counts as a stroke). I welcome anyone else who wants to try this out to raise there hand. It’s a wild way to see Waveland and if we get a 4some I’ll bring some breakfast and Gatorade for afterwards

After hitting all 9 greens last week, I hit 0/7 fairways, 2/9 greens, and into 6 bunkers today.
Golf is weird.

38 with 2 birdies got me a +1 kicking out a -1. If I had made that putt on 9 it would have put me in a 3-way tie for 1st with the Wills.
Anyone else hoping to continue playing sunrise rounds into September? I’d love to get some first off tee times once the league is officially over.

I submitted ‘abnoxious’ (spelled wrong) as my word of the day because my dang shoe wouldn’t stop squeaking, however, the word that best describes my morning according to ChatGPT is ‘Preposterous’ … Could easily write a novel on the entire round but I’ll try to limit this to an essay:
Hole 1: Birdied the opening hole after a decent drive into the right rough and sensible 60* to 20 feet. Officiated the marriage of ‘Speed’ and ‘Line’ on that putt, it was beautiful.
Hole 2: Immediately followed that up by blacking out at the ceremony where I nearly missed the ball off the tee, topped my next two iron shots before finally landing a FW bunker shot on the green. Bartender poured me a triple shot and I stumbled off the dance floor with a double (thank god we’re not playing tilt).
Holes 3 & 4: Went to church on 3 where I prayed for a speedy recovery, but my prayers weren’t answered (+3 thru 4)
Hole 5: Hit a great drive to the center of the fairway but it took me 4 additional swings to finally put a ball on the green … fortunately, the last one rolled in for a mega par.
Hole 6: High draw PW landed just past the hole, ripped back and left up the mound, turning right as it came down, and stopped just before it could tumble down the false front. Unfortunately made a 3 putt bogey after, yet again, thinking it breaks left from below today’s pin… don’t ask why b/c idk.
Hole 7: Snap-hook drive into trees short left, bladed 8i hit a tree leaving a blind approach from middle of 3. Flushed a PW towards the green (I think) which looked & felt golden but found myself over 8’s tee box by the fence. Unsure if I nuked it, got a hard kick forward, some combo of both, or maybe even hit the wrong club? Was shocked to find my ball ~200 yds away… Chipped to 30ft then barely dripped in my lag putt to secure a tasty quota point.
Finished 8 & 9 with boring Hogans thanks to some quality drives and wedges. Overall I was thrilled to card a 41 (Net 35) after hitting literally ZERO quality iron shots … All 8 ‘hacks’ were either bladed, topped, or hosel adjacent. Had a career day inside 100 yds and aside from giving way too much respect to both of 50+ footers, the putter was great.

That’s what I was trying to write with the drive + 4 swings to get to green, just so happened that the last swing not only got me there, it went in.
Idk. Chipinski. Brain hurts. Too much caffeine, not enough calories. Send me your office snacks haha

@djheadley I just realized I can’t make it this week. How did the final standings shake out? If I didn’t get the bye I’m happy to give up my spot in the playoffs. But if I did get the bye, I’ll be able to make it next week.

Totals just came in and you are the WBC Quota champ Will! There was a tie with you and @Wheel but after removing both of your two worst scores you came out ahead and you have more rounds played.
@Wheel and @Ballgame will battle it out to see who faces Will in the Race to the Clocktower Championship. The rest of us… welcome to silly season. Will and Teddy you have your choice on tee time so let me know when you’d like to tee off.

The rest of y’all we wont have groups this week just show up at 6am ready to tee off and we can all go off when ready in 4somes or 2somes. @ChiFFI @rmbartell @TheAbeFroman and @Gottliebk12 (if you plan on taking Willy Ks spot).
Also there is an open spot next week 9/5 to take Curtis’s spot.

I’m in to take @WillyK spot- not playing speed golf though. Looking forward to playing with @rmbartell and @TheAbeFroman after a slew of missed connections this summer.
