Fun but soggy morning as @Wheel and I watched @WillyK take a dose of GOLO and shoot a 9-hole best of 33.
I on the other-hand felt like one of those paper towel commercials - Will Ryan’s game be the basic brand? Or Brawny, ‘paper towels for truly tough messes’?
Was just short of the green off the tee on 1, chunked a wedge about 5 feet then almost holed my next one. Was on in 2 then 2 putt for bird on 2, lipped out for bird on 3, then made a 15 footer for par on 4.
-1 thru 4, paper towel holding strong …
My morning commercial of a golf round hit the point where they started the true test, adding weights. I started to sag, things were wobbling, and after sending my 9th tee shot into the trees, the test was over. I am the basic brand, not strong enough for truly tough messes.
Beat quota though! “Bartell, the basic budget brand for blotting baby blotches”
I slept in for the first time in a few years, woke up in my bed 9 minutes before the tee time. Showed up right around the middle of second hole.
Enjoyed watching the @willyk stripe show this morning, was keeping my head down and slowly coming to my senses without my coffee. But every time i turned around he was in position A1.
I’m not planning on submitting a scorecard because of my late arrival, although I ended up right at my quota anyway if you assume net pars for first two holes. But will look to the Commish for guidance, not sure if it helps or hurts me either way at this point as I’ve lost track of my eight counting rounds.
Folks I am back from a long hiatus in Ireland in which I contemplated quitting my job and becoming a bartender/fisherman in Belmullet so I could play Carne every single day. With my return I bring you the most up to date standings of the race to the clock tower. The Will’s have take this season by storm and will need to battle it out this week to see who get a bye to the finals. Aaron has a fighting chance to push past Teddy if he has an All American week, but it’s not looking good.
Finally, Tim has secured DFL with a staggering -29 points in just 7 rounds played this year.
Also a friendly reminder to all subs out there who have played but who have not venmo’d or paid the person they replaced, please do so ASAP or risk being put on a list in which will be shared to people who sell science boards and you will be blacklisted from March Mudness.
Alright to the tee times for this week. It’s the final regular season week before we get into silly season. I’ll be putting the leaders out in front as a courtesy, but keep that place of play sharp. No official side games this week, but since I am fully out of the playoffs, I am going irons only unless anyone wants to play in a high stakes match
Well, my score calculations were correct but looks like I’d need a @Setwilli -esque ‘tilt’ score to make it in.
I’ll be thinking of wild ways to spend my last two weeks of WBC while watching the playoffs. Maybe another go at the 1-club challenge, irons only, or try the MDY Mid-Cap Cup challenge from those dang commercials on golf channel …
Are you supposed to statistically hit your quota every other time or is it like shooting your course handicap where it’s supposed to be one in every four times? Cuz if it’s the former going 0/8 is provocative, but if it’s the latter you’re due
That’s a good question & im not really sure how that math would check. I would guess it would be like shooting your ch? I’ve been consistent in putting up -3 , -4 , -5s all year
@PinkPantser FWIW, I’ve only hit or exceeded my quota 5 of 17 rounds (3x spot on, 2x scored +3) so I feel it’s pretty representative of my course handicap as 4 of those 5 times my net score was at or under par - one exception being a net 37 where I had the quota points but a walk off net-double hurt the overall score
