Waveland Breakfast Ball Club: 2025 (Chicago, IL)

31 would be a pretty poor score imo. I think 1, 2, 5, 8, & 9 are almost auto birdies. I’m not sure a 29 wins.

Sure. But like have you ever golfed before? Shit is hard.

Real golf is hard. Scrambles are surprisingly easy. Never underestimate the power of the scramble.

I think most teams get through birdieing 4/5 you lay out. So then you birdie 3 of the other 4 for a 29?

And I’m saying all of your teams.

We are shooting 27.

2 is a decent look for an eagle. 4 is very birdieable from the reds. Same w/ 7. I’d say at least one team birdies both 3 and 6.

This is what I’ve always said about golf and the Denny’s menu.

I will send the link with our team tabs that contain scorecards and a tab for live scores once I receive Ballgame’s team tee selections. I was going to write them out but it was going to take too long and in case of changes didn’t want to have to redo everything.

Here is the link to the sheet for updating team scores throughout the event for live scoring.

  • Only add the score for each hole in your team’s tab as everything is calculated and referenced from those
  • Conditional formatting will change the cell color automatically on all tabs
  • Live scoring is in strokes under par

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s round! Should be a fun one!

@TrajMahal’s champions breakfast post was a 11/10. This is an 11.5/10.

Well done does it cut it. Bravo.

Clarifying - scramble stated, so pick best tee ball and play til in the cup? Or is this Best Ball and best score on hole despite tee used?

31 from the Sons of Liberty. Just couldn’t make any putts!

Gentlemen, we have our Champion!

As he crowd anxiously waited on the 9th for Metze’s Mesches to arrive to their bombed tee-shot sitting up nicely in the green-side rough, Waveland 29ers signed their cards as clubhouse leaders with a finishing birdie.

Far from the norm, we hoped our fellow WBC colleagues would 2 putt and force a ‘playoff’. @TeddyPargame didn’t stay true to his name and rolled in the winning birdie putt from 10 feet.

Congrats to Metze’s Mesches and the artist formerly known as TeddyPargame (now TeddyBirdiegame)!

First Place: Mezte’s Mesches

Second Place: Waveland 29ers

Third Place: Sydney’s Sons of Liberty

And now we can officially say that @JAD is the winner of the @SecondCityGC roost spot (@EConroy419 ). If Joe cannot make it we will work down the list of alternates.

Leaderboard for the WBC playoffs is shaping up, but I expect a lot of jostling around as bad scores drop off. We need a LIV type leaderboard to show all this volatility.

The scramble was super fun this morning. I would battle in the trenches with my mensches any day

I think we do a team event once a month. Same teams.

Mensches in the morning

Menches of the midway

Let’s go
