Visiting the Titleist Performance Institute Feat. D.J., Casey, and Cody

Obviously, it would most likely cost an arm and a leg, but is this one on one with the doc something accesible to anyone?

I’m officially headed to TPI for wedge fitting next month. Figured since I won free wedges at the NIT and live 15 mins away I should pay the extra and get fit there.

Will report back about the experience

Following. I’m considering doing this at the Acushnet MA facility in the spring. $350 is steep, but my short game swing is pretty solid and don’t anticipate changing it, so I may bite the bullet once.

Pretty sure the answer is no, Dr. Greg doesn’t just take appointments. Sessions can be booked but will be with one of the other biomechanists on staff

Did it this past summer. Wasn’t cheap, but now I know what grinds I need and I’ll just swap out wedges every 2 years or so without any questions going forward.

Met the man, the myth, the legend himself this afternoon at LIT. Cannot believe it. I actually was starstruck and could not coherently make a sentence. I’ve spent so much of my free time the last few years watching TPI content.

Not going to TPI, but Carl’s has a TPI certified instructor, so I’m going to do the evaluation on Saturday morning. Will report back.

These videos and the discussion about the age range that stuff starts to be not really fixable has 34 year old me feeling like I need to get my ass in gear. Gonna fire up the fit for golf app again I think

Same.

Started stretching multiple times a week and it didn’t seem like enough after watching this video.

Stretching pennies into profits doesn’t help in the swing though

I need to hit the gym, range, and generate shareholder value. It’s tough

Turned 40 this year and after the Dr Rose comment about mobility being a 1 to 1 relationship I’ve been doing mobility every night. What a horrifying moment in their videos that was.

I relate so much to TC’s tightness. I had some lower back soreness so I went to see my physio. She started stretching me out and laughed at the tightness of my hamstrings and hips. I don’t hit the ball far at all but I’m starting to get a better understanding of how parts of my body that generate power just aren’t very strong. I’ve been doing workouts with the Fit for Golf app twice a week, and Peloton rides for the other days of the week so hopefully I’ll see some progress!

The discussion about chipping might be life altering for me. Watch out, guis.

Left tilt, stay in left tilt… extend (up).

Been lurking and reading your stuff for a while - just wanted to say it’s nice to read your content here on the refuge and not just WRX

COM movements during those swings. Down and forward a little (left tilt during the backswing), and then up and forward.

Left knee (lead knee) can bend a bit in the backswing as you go into a little left tilt (at the pelvis and throughout the spine), then you push forward a bit and extend the knee and belt a bit in the downswing and follow-through.

Start 50/50, left tilt to add weight to the left foot, then stay in left tilt to keep the weight moving left a little during the downswing.
