I’ve taken to saying it with a late stage Al Pacino affect. Oh-re-GONE. For no real reason other than I find it stupid and funny.
In Missouri we have;
Cairo(Kay-ro)
Versailles(Ver-sails)
Nevada(na-vay-da)
Milan(my-lan)
New Madrid(MAD-rid)
Illinois also has San Jose(pronounced joes)
In Marin County we have San Rafael (Ruh-Fell)
In Southern California the first T in Huntington Beach is never pronounced (Hun-ning-ton)
Don’t get me started on the second T in Atlanta. Or the first, for that matter. First is a glottal stop, second gets elided. Jerry Reed rhymed Atlanta with Texarkana in “East Bound and Down” because, well, it rhymes. That’s how we say it.
Tough to see RI and VT before NH. Welcome @Soly. He clearly realized NH has no income, no sales tax, coastline, and mountains (and good schools).
@Tron you are correct that Manchester stinks. But the rest of the state knows that and avoids it (except for the airport).
The rest of you have a personal invitation to come and visit.
Can’t beat the price of cigs either. I don’t even smoke but the deal on a carton of Camels is too good to pass up when I visit
Zero respect given to the liquor store situation either.
SW Colorado is awesome. Million Dollar Highway, Ouray, Durango…and you’re like an hour from desert to boot. Cool stuff.
I think the refuge update created an echo.
got to the end of the draft (fine content) seeing what i believe to be 40 minutes left of cody and ben discussing this? check please.
It was closer to 20, but yeah, I would much rather the NLU crew use celebrity judges for this draft over the major drafts.
Timothy Simons dropping some opinions would have been much better than Cody & Ben.
I’m about 50 minutes through this (yeah yeah, I’m behind).
@MerchCzar didn’t know we had beef. Lotta snide comments about SC and I heard the Clemson shoutout.
It be your own people sometimes ![]()
Man, things have not improved but I can’t skip it ![]()
Hate to see the anti-tax stance from some of my guys and then bemoan poor education.
I stand with @Randy so far.
