I’m about at third of the way through. Your game seems to travel well. What are the keys to a game that “travels well”, in your mind?

Wow thanks, TJ – I really appreciate that. And the parallel you drew there is fantastic. It certainly wasn’t something I planned, but it’s probably no accident that the two courses have a similar spirit to them. The poem is always smarter than the poet, as they say. Thanks for reaching out and for taking the time to read the book. Golf soon,
TC

I’d be interested to hear Tom and Randy chop it up re: where this whole golf media landscape is headed from a business perspective. Writers, photographers, instagrammers, businesses like NLU, TGJ, and the earlier stage upstarts. Having attended a TGJ event and being a nest member, I’m really interested in whether we’ll see consolidation, a true media powerhouse emerge, etc.

What a book. It will end up being a serious highlight in what I hope to be a fantastic summer of life and golf. I dont have many passionate golf friends so they didnt seem too interested in my recommendation for this must read. But when I figured out they wouldn’t read it I gave them the backgorund and spoiler about how @sundaybag ended up being the Great American Golf Course. Each and every one of them listened with a massive smile they couldn’t contain because it’s just an unbelivably american and wholesome story.

Unbelievable job @TomCoyne. And now onto Paper Tiger

@TomCoyne - It was fun hearing you chat with my countrymen on the Four Jack pod! If you’re ever interested in exploring golf in Canada, you’ll have lots of people interested in showing you around! Tons of golf-sickos up here.

Guise, thanks for the great questions. Tried to hit them all but probably missed one or two. And @tj_denawli, hope you didn’t mind me sharing your excellent observation!

Great job Big Guy. That was fun. The book was prefect for this. Having @TomCoyne so invested and not just going through the motions of book promotion was icing on the cake.

You definitely have to make this type of content a semi-regular thing for The Trap Draw.

Not a problem, now I just need to get my college transcript amended to show my first A+!

@TomCoyne Thanks for the great book. It was a wonderful journey. After reading “America” I bought A Course Called Scotland. Loved how Robert ducked in and out of the story. I have to ask, where is Robert by now? Was he real? Did he ever find what he was looking for? Maybe he is still searching in some pub in Scotland.

Edit: I am not going to delete this. Someone messaged me and it seems I pretty much missed the point of the whole book. Either I am an idiot or listing to audiobooks at 1.8 speed is not as effective as I thought it was. Now I need to buy the paper copy and re-read it.

Finished ACCA the other day and what a great read and great journey. Echo all the praise others have given and I am always impressed by Tom’s ability to write a book about golf that is about so much more than golf. An amazing and timely book for the changing world of golf and America.

I’m sure someone has mentioned. Robert WAS Tom. I made same error once.

Great listen on a morning walk. Tough scene hearing Randy describe himself as an old guy.
