@golf4miami get in here
haha I was going to cross post it over there, but I figured a lot of the same folks were also going to see it here.
So it wasn’t based off of Alinea in Chicago? Interesting… Those plates look insanely good.
Maybe based off, but they actually filmed in Ever.
I’m sure closing this place for a week to film still cost a lot, but probably not as much as it would cost to close Alinea for a week lol.
Oh, my bad, I get it now. I’m dumb, sorry.
Oh god. Please don’t take my comment as if I was trying to be rude or show you up or something. Was just clarifying. ![]()
not at all, no worries. I was just acknowledging my dumbness by misreading the previous statement.
Fwiw, listening to the creator and showrunner talk about it in interviews, I don’t think it was really based on any one place. Bits and pieces of a lot of three star restaurants the creator’s sister (a very good chef herself) helped bring to life. Obviously with filming at Ever, that probably had the most influence, but it wasn’t meant to be a direct take on that
Crazy that it will be ready by then and they just started filming
Bridgeport - checks out.
More good news
I thought they always said it was going to be three seasons?
I think all the Emmys may have changed the plans.
This makes me excited but also anxious honestly. I’m excited for more Bear, but I’m worried about them trying to do too much with it and potentially losing the quality they have.
From the article it sounds like maybe S4 will be the last so I’m hopeful they have a good plan in place a la Succession.
I respect their commitment to producing this like an old-school TV show.
