This guy is my new favorite person. Is there a way to harness the energy of RC3 and Chef Tsai to power a small city for the rest of time?
Great TD Episode, I can’t wait for Part II. I would love some backstory for how he ended up on the pod. Who’s idea was this, how did the pitch to Ming go? I will say, something about the audio on this one really tested my ability to comprehend at 1.5x, which is how I listen to almost every podcast and rarely have trouble keeping up.
SIMPLY MING. Love that fuckin’ guy.
Great podcast! Food, squash, golf - I’m sold
Selfishly one of my favorite parts of the NLUniverse is how much of it always comes back to SW and Central Ohio. Never knew Chef Tsai was from the DYT! Enjoyable Pod
Kudos to Tron and Randy for giving Ming space to talk! May have choked up a bit at his comments around raising the kindness curve.
Great on the boys for giving a platform to bring this conversation to a golf audience.
Be kind. Be calm. Be safe!
Ming Tsai is the absolute best. I haven’t listed to the pod yet, but plan to ASAP. I used to live across the street from Blue Dragon, one of his restaurants in Boston, and it was my go to spot. He was there often and was a super nice dude, and all his employees spoke very highly of him. And the food was delicious, unsurprisingly.
Can’t wait for this one.
I miss restaurants! We have some fantastic east/west cuisine restaurants and can’t wait to get to one sometime again!
I missing having good cocktails at a bar! Blue Dragon had a house cocktail called the Kentucky Courage. It was an old fashioned, but made with smoky barrel aged Genever instead of whisky. It was my favorite drink in all of Boston, and super dangerous because it was so delicious. I’d have 3 then be happy I only had to walk across the street to get home.
I want one so bad now.
This pod is making me strongly consider getting some Asian takeout for dinner on Saturday night.
They posted a 45 second clip on Twitter and couldn’t understand more than half of it. Tough scene.
I legit think @Randy and @Tron spent less than 5 mins talking in an hour long interview.
Ming is the absolute best.
I don’t wish to disagree with the fine folks at the refuge, but this one wasn’t for me.
Ming seems like a great guy, but my attraction to the Trap Draw is to hear Randy & Tron’s interaction with each other and the guests. I feel like an hour long monologue (perhaps 2 hours?) could belong anywhere.
On the other hand, the Columbus preview with Soly was probably my favourite NLU content of this year.
Listened to part 2 this morning. Ming has such joy for life! People, food, experiences! It’s harder to enjoy life with COVID and listening to Ming talk about these things just makes me want to go back to being able to enjoy these experiences of meeting people, eating in restaurants, sitting at bars etc etc
This made me very excited to go to an outdoor restaurant patio this afternoon (pending it not being a shitshow upon arrival).
Just followed him on ig so i can get the drop on some Mings Bings. So sick of eating salads for lunch.
To follow up: I ordered some bings and tried them out this morning and I really like them. I used some hot gyoza sauce for dipping and it paired very well. Nice light lunch to break up the leaf raking.
Only downside is that it takes a long time to cook them frozen. I would recommend having a thawed one ready in the fridge if time is an issue.
