It is common for people of any generation to look down on the next generation’s music. My old Guitar teacher told me his strategy when playing a gig. He would look around the room and figure out the approximate average age. Then subtract back to figure out the average high School grad year and play stuff from that era.

Hence I’m locked into Motown, Beach boys, Linda Ronstadt, and early Springsteen

Listening to Jeezy at normal speed is jarring since I have my podcasts at least 1.5x
