Didn’t have “Irish Civil War being mentioned on golf-adjacent podcast” on my 2023 Bingo Card. Almost made me crash the car! Cannot wait for the next edition.

Listening to this now, so good!

I’m a fan of every other LD flavor but didn’t like the red can. First flavor where the syrup was too much to me. Not sure if I got a bad can or if it’s just not for me - need to try another to make sure.

At the end of the day it’s a true YMMV situation

Random airport knowledge I learned today:

Dulles is IAD because it used to be DIA but that was confused with DCA.

LAX and PDX added Xs when airport codes gained a third letter. San Francisco added an O instead

When Neil mentioned the invention of the Iron Lung prompting @djpie to say “ and a good day to you sir” was a lovely moment. If you know you know

@djpie @MerchCzar listened to the 1923 ep with
my wife, and she wanted me to ask if there was audio coverage of the marathon dances by a guy that sounds like Scoops Callahan.

loved the 1923 episode. I teach some of the silly stuff from the 20’s in class. Would love to see a list of all their notes for it.

This is going to need some monitoring. The youth of Japan are wild.

I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that cricket legend Bill Ponsford would get a mention on any NLU pod and yet here we are…

If only the PIF existed in 1928. Could you imagine “the anarchical world of marathon dancing” being flooded with Saudi money?!?!?!

Marathon dancing should really get the “7 Days In Hell” sports rockumentary treatment.

Great episode on the year 1923! I’m looking forward to more of these.
