I’ll cosign on gettting a good set of allen/hex keys - the ones that come with furniture generally suck and then you have a shitton of useuless ones around.

I like the T-type sets: https://www.harborfreight.com/sae-and-metric-t-handle-ball-end-hex-key-set-18-piece-63167.html?hftm_sc=&utm_source=google&hftm_source=google&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=22883594072&campaignid=22883594072&utm_content=184738265898&adsetid=184738265898&product=63167&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22883594072&gbraid=0AAAAADAHb4cJ7-64zM26o_B0HMSVXZbSz&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmYzIBhC6ARIsAHA3IkQLA_DsEnsR2SPeCGQ21a_lR5oZPPDRNfKXaNr369LrBrQOYrop7MwaAta3EALw_wcB

I bought that on tik tok…it’s amazing

I’d kind of been eyeing this for a while just for the ratchet capabilities with putting stuff together. I feel like that along with a hex folding multi-tool would check almost every box for under $20.

Edit, just saw the video for the one mentioned above and that it ratchets and seems way more ideal.

I’ve been getting a ton of usage out of this ratchet screwdriver. I also just got these electric scissors to attack the cardboard monster with ruthless efficiency!

Going to need a full review on these scissors. Would love for my lonely Wednesday nights in the garage with a utility knife and endless cardboard mountain to be a bit shorter.

I don’t know how common this is, but my city has a location where you can dump cardboard boxes in a giant compactor for free.

That thing makes the week after Christmas a breeze. You don’t even need to flatten them, just load the truck up and toss them in

I’ve been looking for something like this (admittedly, not looking very hard) but this went straight into my cart, appreciate it.

We have a public dump. It’s just far more convenient to not have to do that especially because they’re only open to the public on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.

I have a similar Milwaukee ratcheting screwdriver and it’s fucking awesome. Made some plumbing work I had to do under the kitchen sink so much easer than with a normal screwdriver.

110 1-star reviews on the screwdriver is truly something to behold!

I bought the first model of this ratchet screwdriver maybe 12 years ago and still have it. Its double ratchet action is a marvel of modern engineering.

This is peak podcasting. No notes.

This is certainly a better agenda than a 96 minute commercial for Holderness and Bourne.

Listening to DJ talk about Milwaukee is great…both on the youtube episode and in the chop session. It is inspiring how much it appears he loves where he lives.

There’s something to be said about being blessed as an adult the opportunity to choose wherever you want to live with no impact to your employment status vs being from somewhere and never leaving due to lack of desire or opportunity to change.

Relatedly, I always appreciate when someone moves away from where they were raised for a while and then willingly chooses to move back. Not only do they bring some outside #perspective but they usually do so with a newfound appreciation for their home.

The segment about old guy hobbies resonated with me.

I too have early-onset-old-dad.

I have found myself getting excited about birds, but my big thing has been the JFK assassination.

Oswald didn’t do it.

I downloaded the ā€œMerlin Bird IDā€ app a few years ago. My daughters are horrified when I whip out my phone to identify a bird’s call. I fucking love it.

I whip out iNaturalist for plants and trees all the time. I’m 31.
