Trap Draw: Chop Sessions

Not good. The fact that Hertz owns other rental car agencies and it happened there as well is concerning. I mean, this is some serious incompetence to not be able to find returned rentals that are on the lot.

Rental car returns at airports are wild these days. Returned one to San Diego after Thanksgiving there wasn’t an agent in sight. Everybody was just grabbing their stuff and bouncing. Was a little bummed because I wanted to charge it to a different card than I made the res with but wasn’t about to search for someone.

Don’t think the reported stolen cars were incompetence as much as just negligence as company policy and not giving a fuck how that might harm the lives of their customers. Like the one who was jailed as a result and had a miscarriage while in jail.

Hertz is an absolute shit company with shit customer service. I had a woman at the counter in Atlanta one time tell me I couldn’t make a reservation with her because I had already made one online. It broke my brain.

I returned a car to Indianapolis on a Sunday afternoon in early November. I think I was the last car in the lot, there were about 5-6 cars behind me spilling over into the driving lanes to get to the other agencies. One guy working…there were ~200 cars that needed to be moved. Not sure what the guy did after my car because you would have needed to move about 15 cars just to make room for a lane to open.

Between Uncle Juice, Grand Theft Auto, and the 2020 Bankruptcy. It is hard to determine what the biggest black eye is for this once great American company. Truly some bad hombres

I’m waiting to take my cues from The Juice on this, as this is our shared brand partner.

It’s absolutely crazy that this is a standard practice. I remember feeling weird just leaving a car with the keys and assuming everything would work out. Luckily I never had any problems. But I feel like if that’s how you do business, you need to assume the car is returned until proven otherwise.

Also fuck Hertz and any other company that buys goodwill with insurance money.

On Monday, Hertz said it believed it would recover a “meaningful portion” of the settlement amount from its insurance carriers

gonna throw this out here for all the refuge lawyers and travel aficionados.

anyone every successfully dealt with disputing a travel insurance policy claim. long story short - day 3 of a 7 day mexico resort trip I went into hotel room isolation for COVID. I want to have the 4 days I missed of trip covered by the policy’s interruption coverage. Claim is being denied because as I was forced into isloation in my hotel room, my hotel actually wasn’t forfeitted so there is nothing to recover.

any help is appreciated. hit my DM.

@Tron love KVV @KVV , but his FCS take was unbelievably misinformed. Jackson state is playing in the Celebration Bowl, because it is the “HBCU National Title” it is the SWAC champion vs MEAC. Attendance has nothing to do with it. The SWAC takes the celebration bowl slot for financial reasons. Each conference gets $1 million +. Jackson state could elect to play in the playoff if they chose to do so, but them and the conference agree to play Celebration Bowl instead. In theory the runner up in the conference could go to the playoff, but they aren’t highly ranked enough. Once again I love KVV but the FCS being a figure of attendance is made up. I would bet that Jackson State actually led the country in attendance this year.

I have no issues getting dragged when I’m wrong, and it’s kind of easy to be wrong on the Trap Draw where the topics fly fast and freely. I misunderstood what Tron was asking, which I thought was: Why isn’t Jackson State an FBS team? And my explanation was attendance is part of what helps a school determine whether they should move up or down.

In 2015, Jackson State was averaging 13,000 fans a game. They were 15th in the FCS.

In 2022, they averaged 43,000, which obviously ranked them No. 1 in the FCS.

I thought the question was about why they don’t play at an FBS level. Tron was wondering the opposite, why aren’t they playing in the FCS playoffs instead of opting for bowl game as conference champ.

While I shouldn’t be getting out over my skis and talking about HBCUs when I don’t know a ton about them, it is true that to play FBS full time you have to average at least 15,000 in attendance, which Jackson State for a long time did not. And that was my point about why they weren’t a FBS school already, because for years they couldn’t be, and maybe that institutional tradition just isn’t something the school wanted to move away from. You also have to sponsor 16 sports, which Jackson State may not do. I’m not sure.

Mostly a case of me talking when I could benefit from listening.

I would be completely on the 49ers bandwagon if not for @Tron and @Pooshdaddy. Totally insufferable. Hope Shanny gets washed in the playoffs as per usual.
