Sure but that flat fee is still going to be based on outlining the resources and their billable rate X hours allocated to the project.
Its just a shittier way of selling work to the client so the price is lower and guaranteed. But your team is only allowed to bill set number of hours each week regardless of how much they work. Work 60 hours? Cool, you get to lie and charge 40 because we told the client it could be done in 40 and we can’t ask them for more money.
As someone who has been designing, pitching and doing fixed fee engagements for the last 8 years, I can’t tell you how aware of this I am. Clients want to know how much they are paying up front.
For sure, and I have no doubt McK provided that rather than a line by line $4MM bill after project completion, as we do the same for our projects… but as I bet you do for yours, that fixed fee is created based on a staffing plan rather than guessing how much time it’ll take. Our convo was around the napkin math of how you get to a bill that high and guesstimating bill rates at McK.
Yeah it can get pretty insane. I never had a six figure document, but have had more than a few tip $50k. Those aren’t PPT presentation decks or anything that vapid, but are final brand guidelines with ALL of the rules around how that brand comes to life moving forward. They can range anywhere from 10-150+ pages.
A large majority of the time investment for those documents isn’t about actually designing it, although that takes a good bit of time. It’s to cover the time invested to create all of the rules, examples, and other content in the document. While it can vary, typically the split is 85-90% strategic development, 10-15% design/laying out the deck.
my thoughts 10000%
I am not a huge soccer guy (at least at that level, fucking love our local USL1 team DCFC), and so i’ can’t comment on if anything was correct or wildly incorrect but god damnit I laughed more during this episode than I have in a long time, at trap draws.
agreed, Panda is the best, laughing the whole time watching the guy trying to keep a straight face, the intentional audio cutoff of some comment about women, the idea that some animals are faker than others, so much to unpack
As an actual soccer enthusiast, I thought it was very funny. He was close to the mark on some things and very far on other things but it was hilarious none-the-less. Again, it’s the trap draw, it’s The Hung Ghost and there is no reason to accept the soccer takes seriously lol.
I actually clicked on this “easy-to-use dashboard” link and I don’t think I get it. Just shows you what “promises” each airline has made to DOT about how they will compensate customers for given circumstances?? So as a consumer are you supposed to show this dashboard to an airline desk to say they promised mayor Pete they’d give you a hotel?
@Tron@Randy apologies if you covered this already, but if not just wanted to notify you of the cocaine kingpin who was internationally searched for and supposedly hiding but owned a few soccer teams, was actively playing on said teams, and featured in team photos
