Absolutely not saying to not tip. I’m saying that literally everyone in the service industry understands that there are situations where it’s totally okay to tip nothing if the service is that shit. It’s happened to me maybe 3 times in the last 10 years.
It’s basically the level of if they bring the wrong meal or forget a meal and don’t do anything to fix it and start to just avoid the table.
If a waiter fucks up an order and does something to make up for it, they’re getting a bigger tip than they would with normal service.
What about tipping on services where the business already added a 18% or so tip? I don’t add any more although I would tip more than that if it was left to me?
I’m just gonna say it: people in the service industry think way less about each and every individual amount than the actual tippers. Tip 30%, tip 15%… tip nothing on a black coffee… I think it’s all pretty normal to them.
Back in waiting tables days, my favorite were the people who would eat the entire meal, then ask for a manager and then complain that something was wrong with it to get it comped.
I just went to a movie last night and was shook by two things I need the trap draw to weigh in on:
there was a rule for anyone under 18 had to have a 25+ escort for a movie staring after 6! Wtf is that? The youths just can go to movies anymore??
people brining in blankets to a recliner movie theater. I’m out on this I think. Comfortable or not, it’s still a public place and idk about your Snuggie being a part of that.
A sweatshirt is always an option. I don’t think it’s preposterous to bring a blanket but was surprised at the quantity of people that did it and seemed weird to me
Honestly kinda in on this one. We went to see planet of the apes a few weeks back and a group of teens got kicked out after the 3rd time the lady behind me went and complained to management about them watching TikTok’s on full volume during the movie.
This is probably the reason. Not a “too young to be alone” thing, but more of a situation where that theatre probably has issues with kids and their phones
I would also like to nominate this rule for old people anywhere. My dad has never silenced his phone in his life
We had a similar rule at theaters by me growing up. It was because there was a local curfew law that minors couldn’t be out past 10 PM without a parent or guardian. So theaters couldn’t sell unaccompanied minors tickets to movies knowing that it would result in them breaking curfew. 6 still sounds kind of early though.
Sure that unacceptable but seems insane to ban en entire group of people from the movie theater for that reason. So when are high schoolers supposed to go the movies? Matinees only? Seems like a bummer at least and a travesty at most for having a childhood deprived of a movie night with your friends
Is the theater attached to a mall by any chance? The mall here in town has time periods where teens under 18 have to be accompanied, which I think the theater also falls under as a result.
