Trap Draw: Chop Sessions

People that don’t take off the heads of adjustable clubs for travel are just asking for their stuff to get damaged.

why not just throw em in your carry-on? make sure that nothing happens to em that way at least

Had my driver head in my carry-on one time and apparently some particles of fertilizer from the course had gotten on the driver head. Long story short, it set off some sensor during the TSA process where they had to make sure the driver head didn’t have explosive material on it. Was definitely not something I was expecting. Since then: club heads always in the golf bag, put them in the headcovers and then bury them deep in the side pocket of the golf bag.

good point!

I have jackets/rain gear/a few extra pieces of clothing in my golf bag most of the time, all extra cushioning. If my driver head is central enough it’s usually fine.

If the TSA damages my driver they’d probably be doing me a favor

Golfing on family trips with a toddler, I’ve used one of these to wrap around the woods.

We’re in the Nest - it’s alright to admit the floatie is yours…

May I introduce you to a driving iron and eliminate the driver?

I have a 3 wood, 5 wood, and hybrid that get the job done. It’s more about me not getting greedy on certain holes

It’s kind of weird that the stiff arm has been around for like 20 years and the design is completely unchanged. Nothing where the plastic comes down a lot further and has padding on the inside or maybe something with a padded veil that comes down around it. It’s just the same design they’ve had since day one and like 50 other people ripping it off.

Not everyone hits a driving iron like you do….

Crazy thought - instead of packing towels, which even if it’s a golf towel you need like one, maybe two for a golf trip - why not wrap the clubs with quarter zips or sweaters or clothing you’re already bringing? It’s a win-win!

Think we can patent one before it becomes the next Nest gift?

Would have been tremendous content if this happened a few months ago.

I’m relatively new to the Trap Draw and have seen some allusions to @Tron having a sinus procedure early last year. Have a procedure of my own coming up on Friday (turbinate reduction and septoplasty), and would love to know what kind of fresh hell I’m looking at from a recovery standpoint.

I had the septoplasty done last year as well.

In my experience, my nose was f’d up in two places. so the surgeon said it took extra time since he had to really get up in there.

all that to say, i was able to avoid the Rx painkillers, which i was told was rare.

but the drainage caused me to wear the gauze for at least 4 days after. which made eating + drinking + mouth breathing hard because i had something on my upper lip. also made me sneeze a lot more than i probably should have cuz it tickled my nose constantly even though I couldn’t feel it.

after about day 5, i could finally breath the slightest out of my nose, due to the snot bubbles, and as soon as that happened, i was basically smooth sailing.

But it was tough for about 5 days, mostly due to the gauze, in my experience.

Sleeping also just is not fun. I did take sleeping aides. And if you have a +1, would recommend a week in different beds due to the snoring. Slide in the DM’s if you have any other questions.

100% worth it, imo and wish I would have done it 10 years earlier.
