Trap Draw: Charleston

I’d never come home

I’m physically back home. Mentally not so much lol. I also came home and just started making posters of anything related to what our group did and feeling they will be a hit for Christmas presents.

I’m kinda big on the Bravolebrity scene thanks to my wife. Love Southern Charm, Vanderpump Rules, Summer House, RHONY, NJ and ATL. I don’t always keep that up on RH, but the others I do.

Shep seems like a good enough guy. Silver spoon of course and usually seems to stay aware of that, but not always.

On TV he certainly seems to actually be growing as a person which is always cool to see.

Also, @Tron and @Randy , DJ James Kennedy is engaged to be married now and I think still sober or mostly sober. He kind of has had a redemption story the last 2 seasons.

Lastly, Charleston is amazing. Love that place. Can’t wait to go back.

Shep sounded like he had a cold yet was pretty upbeat :flushed::sunglasses:

Good to hear about James! Any word on Lala?

@JScore being deep in the Bravo scene is both eye-opening and inspiring.

You a top chef gui, too?

We were on a video call with him while recording - he’d just gotten back from a big bonefishing trip in the Bahamas and actually did have a cold or allergies. Understand the implication, but don’t think it was the case on the pod.

Haven’t spent a ton of time in Charleston but loved the time I have spent.

My first trip there was before I had watched Southern Charm and rented an AirBnb with some friends. We arrive and the girls start freaking out saying we are at Shep’s house. They explain who he is and and I tell them that someone probably just decorated Southern Charm theme and brush it off. 10 minutes later opening a drawer in the kitchen looking for a bottle opener and what do I find? Mail addressed to Sheppard Rose III. I can certify it was a cool spot and the rooftop terrace was awesome.

I know some people don’t care for Shep but I think 99% of people in his situation would be about the same. I have never met the guy but all things considered I bet he is a pretty good dude.

Some if the highlights of James sobriety during the season was Lala’s condescension about how she’s glad he’s doing what she already did. So good.

She had a baby recently like most of the gals. She named her kiddo Ocean.

It’s so good.

Hoping to relocate to Charleston in the fall. Sounds like an amazing place. Not sure I vibe with that Shep energy though.

Definitely like Top Chef, but don’t keep on top of it well enough. Too much good TV out there. Seriously a Golden Era. Never been better.

Knowing that you’re deep in the scene makes me feel infinitely better about the hours of my life spent watching VPR.

Ran into Justin Sutherland from the Kentucky season Sunday night. Dude’s head is so far up his own ass.

Also down to talk Below Deck.

VPR is transcendent television. Perhaps next time the C-Suite finds itself doing the LACC/Bel Air double dip you’ll find time to pop into SUR or Tom Tom to pay respects.

All this said, I think 90 Day Fiancé has surpassed Bravo’s current lineup and I would love it if we could get Big Ed on Trap Draw: San Diego.

I’m not all the way done yet but damn I loved this. Charleston, and IOP specifically is my happy place. We go whenever we can. The kids push more for HHI but for my Wife and I we’d just assume stay at IOP and just enjoy the relaxation.

Listening makes me want to get back ASAFP. However I was overruled and this summer’s vacation is Disney.

I enjoyed the Pod @tron and @randy. Never seen a single episode of Southern Charm but was at a bar on HHI a while back when the person I was with said Shep was there. Very low key, causal guy.

His experience growing up on HHI is exactly how everyone I know who grew up there says it was. Tourist season meant something very different for the local teenage boys!

He did a great job with the food scene in Charleston. I’m also glad he left out a couple really local places.
