Trap Draw: Atlanta

Los Bravos on Johnson Ferry best taco/Mexican spot in Atlanta. the post-practice Marist families agree.

Cartersville or Jasper it sounds like.

I will stick up for No. 246 if you do the kitchen window. Lots of course solid bang for you buck for $85.00 plus it is always cool seeing them do work in the kitchen.

That said, I’m not sure anything can beat bocca lupo’s squid ink pasta and their rotating dishes as far as Italian goes.

they’re definitely growing and it’s losing a little bit of its original rustic feel, but I also don’t live there anymore so I don’t have it but once a year if I’m playing golf nearby.

but i can’t buy their BBQ sauce at every grocery store in the SE so I’d say they’re a small local business that has grown and is doing a killing. but all of their locations are in a 3 mile radius. it’s still a pretty small shop.

The best burger in ATL is grind house killer.

how dare you…

more restuarant than bar but Cypress patio in Midtown is my favorite spot.

(have to stop talking about some of this. just depressing me it’s been months and will be more ahead before really returning to any of this)

Bocado.

I do like Bocado, but still rolling with Grindhouse

Anyone here ever had Zunzis? South African sandwich shop in Howell Mill

DFW is a fantastic airport for end-users; extremely decentralized security and gate situation = quick/reliable car-to-gate times, which trumps any other inconvenience for me. The 20 minute walks and train rides between restaurants/gates never come into play for me unless I have a mega delay. Plus, as you mentioned, the roads in and out are fantastic. I can’t remember a time where I hit traffic within DFW itself (in stark stark contrast to Love Field).

I could see how one would hate it as a connector airport for exactly the same reasons though

it’s a savannah staple. expansion location. has lost the entire spirit of the original restaurant. it’s hard to explain, but at the original location as you build your sandwich/meal, whenever you say “can I have ___” “add this ___” they say “Shit Yeah!”

It’s really dumb but a very fun experience and the ATL location is very family friendly and stripped all that away. Thats what the SY sauce means.

Couple of other places I really like… Hawkers and Ladybird.

I’ve gotten in a lot of fights about this. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills that everyone in Atlanta’s favorite wings are at the Local. It’s fine that they are smoked, but they need to be fried after. I don’t want my wings fall off the bone, I want them crispy.

Also, fox brothers is criminally overrated. Their brisket is dry 60% of the time and the pulled pork is average at best.

Probably not the best tacos, but up near the top are Prison Tacos. I like going there because the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary is one of my favorite buildings in the city.

Good call on The Local. Many nights I’d wind up there randomly.

Was also thinking Cypress in Midtown. We usually go there for St Pattys. Great patio.

A fun bar to watch games and grab a good burger is Park Bar over by Centennial. Been our go to for Falcons games.

personal preference. they’ve got enough crisp for me and the spicy korean BBQ sauce is incredible.

fox bro’s is cranking out volume. certainly can be hit or miss, I won’t excuse those sins. Willing to be crucified for this take, but I think this is a lifetime of georgia BBQ. we’re not texas. BBQ isn’t just meat. BBQ, to me, is an entire meal and sides matter. I want good collard greens, beans, etc. Fox bro’s knocks that out of the park. Frito pie? Worth the entire trip there.

You seem like a good guy but your taste in restaurants are pretty basic.

Best wings for me is at Jacks. Is the service terrible and are you gonna get your wings a hour after ordering? Sure.

But boy its tough to beat 4 dollar pitchers of high life and those wings. Meatballs are great too.
