Trap Draw : Airports 4.1 now out

This should be standard at every gate!

It is, at least with United. And it doesn’t even remotely work. I’ve lost all hope for society at large.

Number of people who stand there in the way with group 4/5 on their tickets is infuriating.

Shout out to the gate agents who loudly and obnoxiously tell group ditchers that their group has not yet been called.

FYI the airlines run their gates as they see fit
there is no requirement per se
you probably know that
safe travels

it seems to work out here in the remote west coast :face_with_monocle:

MCI’s only saving grace is that generally it’s a final destination - there’s usually not enough time to appreciate the awfulness

I can say as a west coaster Sacramento is probably the best midsize airport in California. Excellent airport.

I can also say as a west coaster I have absolutely zero clue how it ranks against the rest of the country

My only visit to SMF was back in 2011, and I only departed out of there. This was before the new terminal was opened. I remember the place being fine, but nothing memorable. Again, that’s prior to the new terminal opening. Great alternate for SFO when fog rolls into the Bay.

Just paid an extra $300 one way to fly Delta instead of American. Never, ever again.

Absolute scenes at DAL this evening. Everything inside the airport was humming, but the arriving passenger pick up area is a disgrace.

Every airport screws this up. They charge out the ass for short term parking, then wonder why everyone just does drop off and pick up.

Give everyone four hours free. Clear up those pickup/drop off areas.

So we decided on a last minute Thanksgiving trip. We booked flights about 10 days ago (I know, I know)Pre-paid airport parking at DFW unavailable. They suggest that there will be terminal parking tomorrow, just at full freight. I am a skeptical.

Has anyone utilized airport valet?

It seems like a not great idea, especially when returning home. I’m not sure which one you would be waiting on longer valet or bags. That’s if they don’t do something stupid like wreck your vehicle, lose your keys, or steal your stuff.

That being said should I try valet or plan to spend at least an hour finding a spot at DFW tomorrow?

Try theparkingspot.com.

We’ve used them several times at a few different airports. Good rates, shuttles, AAA discount. You can probably find a promo code somewhere too.

Just checked DFW for the 23-27. Still some availability left.

Something to consider but with a 2 yr old and 4 yr old wasn’t really wanting to go off site and wanted to avoid shuttles ect but might not have an option this time! Thanks!

Wow, wonder if those are normal prices or up-charging for the holiday; don’t think I’ve seen off-site airport parking ever that high. Heck, terminal parking at IAH is $22-$24/day.

Have used offsite parking on a few trips lately. Long walks to those lots.

I have heard the airport parking is a mess right now (im in Dallas). Valet is pretty easy, almost scary easy especially on the return.

Uber may be your best option all things considered.

With 2 kids and luggage I’d probably consider an old fashioned car service. Not even Uber.

We use Blacklane on arrival at our destination most of the time. Unfortunately we have a 2.5 hour drive from home to the airport so Uber isn’t really an option.
