I just signed up for the Huaka’i rewards. Seems like a slippery slope for me to end up with an HA credit card.
Beirut, Florida, Ohio. Name a shitty place. As long as I’m flying Hawaiian I don’t care where the layover is. I’m on Hawaiian for brand loyalty.
But if you’re leaving Hawaii on Hawaiian Air, you aren’t laying over anywhere because HNL is the only hub. Unless you’re interlining, which is it’s own ball of wax.
Also, HA does not fly to the 3 places you listed.
And thank god for that.
Mostly it’s a connecting interlining with Alaska. I refuse to fly Alaska or anybody else to the mainland. The service just isn’t as good. Once I get there I’m stuck with domestic travel partners.
I’m more annoyed by that Southwest credits will now have an expiration than I am by the bag charge. Being able to rebook whenever the price dropped and keeping those credits without expiration was a HUGE perk.
Well that made it simple
What’s ironic is it’s probably Harvard MBAs making these changes to boost those short term numbys
Seconded. I bought a round-trip flight to Atlanta in December for $280. Have gotten back $130 in credits due to price drops. Guy math says that’s an extra $130 on Masters merch (yes, humblebrag).
All major airlines are now virtually identical other than business class so if you’re flying economy the only reason to be loyal is if you have status.
Or live close to a hub maybe
Landed at MCO 3 minutes ago, halfway through our taxi. Woman behind is already standing up and getting her bags out of the overhead bins.
Where does she think she’s going right now? The plane is a mile from the gate and there are 28 rows in front of her…
Edit: United flight attendants called her out from the back to sit down.
Happy to see the Star Alliance taking a stand against that behavior.
Nothing annoys me more than people that try to rush up the aisle. No one is going anywhere until the row in front of them clears. But they will try to rush the gap, and end up blocking someone else from stepping out of their row to collect their things. I would love to just stay seated and wait until the row in front clears to get out in the aisle but if you stay sitting then people will get in your space and prevent you from getting out when it’s your turn. And you can’t just patiently wait like a sane person either - I mean one time this dude literally a row behind me pushed past me instead of waiting for me and the people in my row to exit, and I called after him like “yo have you never been on a plane before?” Just infuriating stuff.
If I have the aisle seat, I’ll occasionally stand when the plane lands just to block people behind me rushing up. It ain’t much but it’s something.
Pretty much what you have to do. If the FA’s ask people to stay seated to allow people with tight connections to get off quickly, of course you do that, but most of the time it’s just people who think they are the main character.
I may go so far and say this is another perk of sitting in an aisle seat.
Boxed her out on the way off the plane. Mouse in the house.
If you have the mouse in the house the Next tier is to back 'em down, let other people who would have been behind them exit ahead of them to teach them consequences

AA plane diverts to Denver, then catches on fire.
I don’t think that’s supposed to happen.
