The gate lice situation at MCO this afternoon was disgraceful. 3 consecutive Delta gates were delayed and the sheer mass of people just standing in the walkways made it impossible to move the 70 feet to my gate

Man that absolutely kills me for the 2-3 SW flights I took a year. They were the airline for people who flew regularly but not enough to earn status. Guess I’ll switch to United because without the free bags, my motivation to give SW any money at all is gone.

It’s more disappointed that Southwest bragged about this being free for so long. It was their calling card. It was bound to happen but it’s feels anti SW. also didn’t realize it’d been posted 4 other places, I just came to the airport thread since I figured that’s where the talk would be happening.

Of course they would brag about it while they had it. But they were giving up an insane amount of revenue by not charging for it and it is the complete opposite of what every low cost carrier does. If everyone else is charging for bags and Southwest now charges for bags but can keep their fares the same, people will still fly them.
