You know it is always Ulaanbaatar first
This is a joke. No way Mongolia can happen with Russian airspace still closed to US carriers.
As an aside, when we were in New Delhi last winter, Ulaanbaatar was the only city in the world with worse air quality at the time. I couldn’t even imagine.
From what I read the route would be from Guam and Tokyo Narita so wouldn’t need to go over Russian airspace
Edit: Appears it’s only from Narita
Just perusing the company press release now…NRT-ULN is crazy. I wonder if they’re going to use the GUM based 737s. It appears to be a 5 hour ish flight, so that should be within range. Not sure what the alternate airport situation is like for Mongolia. ROR-NRT is going to be weight restricted as hell going northbound, as ROR has a very short runway. Southbound could be an issue too if YAP is closed.
But I guess if we’re increasing HND flying, gotta use them NRT slots somehow!
The black nose cone liveries should make a comeback. I assume it’s a cost based thing these days to go with all white everything
Added Love Field to the airport list this week. Much nicer than DFW.
Love is fantastic, arguably my favorite in Texas
Comparing any airport with 20 million passengers to one of the busiest in the world is always a futile exercise.
I was in Amsterdam in May. Would that be a more fair comparison? Far superior to DFW.
When flying to Dallas in the future, I’ll likely hold my nose and take Southwest to Love over dealing with DFW.
Plus it has a casino!
Sunday I made the walk post security at LAX from Terminal 7 to Terminal 2. A couple of tunnels and some nice views as the walk went. Signage was a bit challenging to find the escalator to terminal 3 (it is hidden by PF Changs)
Overall no issues with the walk
Took a day trip to New York in and out of LGA today. Long day. But got to do a little comparison of the Centurion and Chase lounges. It’s a bit of a hassle to get there but the chase lounge is very nice. Better than the centurion and it’s….not even close…
Also, kudos to the chase lounge for letting me go in to get some work done upon arriving, approx 6 hours before I was supposed to leave. Centurion wouldn’t let me in until 3 hours before.
DFW to Auckland in two weeks. Dreading that flight.
Who did you end up flying with
American was the best option.
LGA is great. Flew through for the first time last week. Modern airport with everything you need.
Good news, United had a very strong profitable 3rd quarter.
Bad news, they decided to engage in stock buybacks.
Not a good look when flight attendants are threatening to strike because their new contract is long overdue.
