Patrick Shea is low key becoming a regular in my YouTube rota and his review of the JetBlue economy experience en route to Edinburgh has me wishing they served more routes out of DC.
Really wish they weren’t so JFK-centric, but probably makes the most sense considering their business model.
I would like for @Tron to park and use IAH as O&D and not just connect. He almost had me convinced United was pretty good, but certainly not good enough to deal with the terrible parking garage and traffic at IAH.
Just came through Reagan for the first time. Definitely not a great airport but I appreciate anything with direct metro service, so that’s still a 10/10. Do we have a ranking for best public transit directly from the airport?
Yeah, I usually fly out of MDW or ORD and the ability to save sometimes $100+ in Ubers or parking vs < $10 to take the orange and blue line (especially if the destination city has transit, too) is amazing.
Only bad thing is orange line doesn’t run 24/7. Back when I lived in Chicago and was doing a lot international business I loved that I knew I could always be to United security in 30 minutes no matter what.
I don’t fly a ton but when I do it’s usually on jetblue since its mostly to Florida from the Boston area.
I’ve only had one negative experience but other than that I enjoy flying with them. They’ve for sure lost some of the charm from 5 or 10 years ago but I think the new Europe routes look great from an onboard product standpoint.
I’m probably the closest thing out there to a JetBlue fan. Home airport is BOS, and I can get Mosaic (their version of premium status) basically from credit card spend.
I haven’t gone international with them, so the Mosaic benefits are not as good as other airlines because they don’t have domestic first class except for a few transcontinental flights. Free alcohol on flights and free pet fees (we travel with our small dog) is pretty nice though.
The big issue with Jetblue is that they are losing money hand over fist and it’s starting to show up in their operations. Feel like I face more delays with them than any other airline I fly. Their new planes are pretty nice, but their older planes are really starting to show their age. I will say that free wifi on all the flights is a good perk.
So much like every other airline, there’s some good and some bad.
As someone who put some fun money into some jetblue stock a while ago… big yikes. They seem to be poorly run but they’re also stuck after the Spirit merger fell through.
Yeah, but that’s mitigated by the fact that if the orange line is closed (so roughly 1-4am) then the Ubers tend to be pretty cheap and the drive is really quick. And if I’m arriving that late I’m probably not taking the L anyways. I’m usually pretty desperate to get home and willing to pay an extra $20 to get home 30’ earlier.
