Tourist Sauce Season 8 - Scandinavia: The heartbeats were real!

I’ve yet to see a Wes Anderson film, but this and the trailer for his latest movie that’s coming out really makes me want to dive in.

Ryan, please peruse the Movie and Film Club threads for some Wes Anderson suggestions. Lots of ways to go with diving into this filmography.

I’m in the same boat. Any particular one you recommend starting with?

The problem is that they are all on Starz from what I can see right?

I’d start with Rushmore. His best is the royal tenenbaums.

Feel like there should be some on Disney+, but you’d have to check.

Personal favorite is still Rushmore, but the most acclaimed are Royal Tenenbaums and Grand Budapest Hotel. Any of those 3 will give a sense of his style. Provocative option would be to wait and go see his newest offering, Asteroid City in theaters opening June 16th.

Rushmore would be my pick too. Hits all the hallmarks of an Anderson film, but also isn’t Anderson at his Andersoniest. It’s a perfect introduction.

Tenenbaums and Grand Budapest are my two favorites.

I tried searching Disney+ but I cannot find them on there. I do really want to see Asteroid City though after seeing the trailer.

My favorites are The Darjeeling Limited and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

A lot of Anderson films have left streaming recently for some reason. Luckily I own my favorites via the Criterion Collection.

I actually bought a couple more yesterday because the last two of his filmography I haven’t seen (Life Aquatic and Darjeeling Limited) aren’t available on streaming. They were having a flash sale on Anderson movies for his birthday.

Grand Budapest and a couple others are on HBO Max if that’s an available option. Moonrise Kingdom is on Prime - more divisive amongst Refugees.

Put Moonrise Kingdom at the bottom and I’ll co-sign on this list.

Home sick today and I hadn’t made it past the middle of the Visby episode back when the series came out so I’ve been bingeing.

What a very fkn pleasant watch. And after four years away from Europe it’s got me itchy!
