Florida is a good geographic place in its own right.
THAT IS FUNNY
Frank getting the quill and parchment back out
Pretty incredible to see how much TS has evolved from season to season. The production/content has so much more depth and soul behind it compared to most other golf content I consume. Truly awesome community and a very easy thing to sign up to support.
Had it up on the big screen to get the full vibes and even my wife kept glancing over and saying “holy shit that’s a golf course? it looks like a movie” to which I responded “We should probably go to Norway ourselves to check it out just to be sure it is in fact a golf course”
My wife has seen a few snippets over the years of NLU content. She was in the room working when I was watching the first episode. She looked up a couple of times and finally commented at how much better and how awesome the cinematography and visuals were.
Go back and watch TS Season 1. Also, This was amazing content back then!
TFW only Frank thinks your joke is funny
@djpie congratulations on an absolute triumph of a season -would love for you to come back to Melbourne for a second take with the new production quality
Any chance we can get some of that drone footage as a wallpaper? Happy to pay
The playoff between @Soly and @djpie has me asking a question for them but you all as well - Soly used an iron for his first shot, rinsed it, then pulled driver. DJ used driver for his tee shot and lost that, then pulled iron for his second tee shot.
DJ’s strategy makes sense to me to just get the ball in play, but I get Soly thinking if he’s hitting 3, he needs to go for the green. Is that the thinking? What’s the school of thought here?
Interested in this as well. Feels like that footage needs to be re-hashed into Film Room: Lofoten and let’s talk through all the tee shot decisions, because there must be a LOT to discuss. Gotta be plenty of clips left on the cutting room floor right @djpie ?
Not sure how I feel about changing clubs from initial shot to provisional/subsequent shots as I think it’s situationally dependent.
But for a company billed as No Laying Up, there was a very noticeable amount of non-drivers being hit off the tee. I didn’t bother to track the exact amount, but I would bet there were more non-driver tee shots than driver tee shots that day.
I was decently confident @djpie was not going to hit it in play. So I thought, the only way I can screw this up is by hitting one out of play. Let’s just hit one in play.
It turns out, the 4-iron shot may have been the hardest of them all. And driver actually had a decent amount of room up there. It was an easy decision once it got to playing Neil.
so many bad thoughts here, wow!!!
Self-reflection is important. Good for you for recognizing that
LOL you must not know what self reflection means
I have a weird question for @Soly /@Tron /@djpie /whomever - how do you guys remain so committed to making smart, interesting, high quality youtube content even if it gets 25% of the views of the low quality, low effort, bro-golf matches on other channels? Is it ever tempting to lower the bar in order to gain subscribers & eyeballs?
Sure, the cinematography and the soundtrack and the competition and the setting were all exceptional… is it ok if I’m most impressed by @Cody’s tempo?
Cody’s tempo might be fine as hell but his ball striking and putting got exposed in the latest Film Room
From the outside in, I would say that the others are entertainers and No Laying Up are artists. Again, from the outside, this seems to me to be certainly true about @djpie.
Check out this 1976 Jerry Garcia interview for a great distinction between entertainers and artists. Start at the 1:30 mark.
