Tourist Sauce Season 6 - Oregon: Finale @ Silvies (Craddock Routing)

It could be argued, for sure. I think the ones that @MerchCzar is referring to are the ones you least expect. Whether you can’t see them from the tee at all, or the ones that catch your perfect 250yd 3 wood that rolls out to a 275yd bunker.

Couldn’t be me

Most of us were thinking it. The rest of us are lying to ourselves.

Be cooler if you did this with a 2-iron…

Still processing.

Potentially makes @RDUgolfer’s tagline “Sneaky short long game” more insulting :joy:

How have we not talked about this yet. I just rewatched Trails episode (amazing as always), and caught something that I should have noticed the first time.

They are playing the 14th hole at trails, and Mike Keiser is talking about the hole and how it has progressed over time etc etc etc. He makes a comment and says, Most lousy golfers ended up going back and forth from one side to the other (talking about the bunkers on either side of the green.)

And @djpie has it edited so that while Mike is talking about these lousy golfers, we are watching @MerchCzar and @Tron go back and forth from the right side to the left side. Shots fired, especially in the midst of his stellar round.

Edit: @rmattgolden taking the credit…or blame…however you want to look at it.

He also leads off the episode saying “[I’m] ready to go low though”. Absolutely called his shot (might be a keeper of the takes scenario)

Watch it bud - my tagline is a bit of an inward-looking motivational thing for me, leave it alone!

No doubt, just know where you’re at on the larger distance spectrum.

Played over the weekend with random guys and stuffed a tee shot on a 140 yd par-3. One of the guys said “Great shot! What’d you hit, wedge?” I sheepishly responded “uh…no, but it was my 140 club.” Didn’t want to admit it was an 8-iron.

Haha my editing choice there. Just some see/say, no malicious intent.

Of course no malicious intent…but it was still brilliant.

No doubt. I hit 8 iron 140 all the time too btw. Who cares what club you’re hitting as long as you know how far it’s going!

On as normal day I’m probably hitting 8 iron for a 140 yard shot although I can stretch it to 150 pretty comfortably if required.

same here.

Have loved every episode this season — IDK about anyone else, but something about Trails made it my favorite yet.

Trails and Sheep Ranch look like amazing courses. I can’t wait to make MECCA to go to these places!

I hit 8 iron from 140 most of the time.

Hell, if I’m down at sea level I might consider hitting 7.

And I’m someone who was scratch within the past five years, have been sub-5 hcp for basically all my adult life, and I hit driver pretty well. I don’t care that I don’t blast irons. What’s the point in that? I love that conversation you describe. If I hit a good iron shot and some random guy comes up short again because he’s hitting to clubs less than me that’s kind f a teachable moment without having to say anything other than what club I hit.

The question is meaningless to begin with because the loft of the irons probably isn’t the same.

I got fitted for some Mavriks a few weeks ago. I carry my 7i about 150ish and was hitting the Mavrik 7i about 160. I checked the lofts when I got home and there is 6(!) degrees difference.

I’m very glad to know there is commonality in this ethos among the Refuge. :vulcan_salute:
