Tourist Sauce S9 - Who will be the golf daddy?

Have you considered a service like ShipSticks for the trips to and from a foreign country (Oz, Ireland, etc) rather than lugging them onto the plane? What drove the decision to manage the clubs yourselves?

Can you define, “The TC Way”?

How do you balance pre-trip planning of off-course side trips, and during-trip improv, and has that changed over the years?

As Chief Security Officer, have there been any legit op sec issues on TS? Obviously the flood this season comes to mind, but curious if there have been other incidents with weather, wrong place wrong time, bad hombres, etc.

Also, what kind of planning do you do as it relates to security for these trips?

How is flight booking done? Do you guys like to all be on the same flight or do airline preferences take precedent? Does Pro Traj Holdings pay for economy only?

Surely there is a designated survivor/key man risk situation.

Can’t have all key members on the same flight in case it goes down.

I thought about this with the little puddle jumper flight to Kings Island and how everyone was on the same tiny little plane…

Whose camera has the tiny dark spot in the bottom right corner, and will it remain there for the rest of the season?

nvm I glossed over the logistics part.

Given that @Tron previously described Lost Farm as life changing was Tasmania a tough cut here, or just one of those things? I also was sure you guys played Tara Iti but that doesn’t seem to be part of the season. Will there be a Nest video of that? Preferably with sound unlike Soly’s solo attempt in S1?

This might be more of an editing question for @djpie than logistics, but there are a lot of logistics linked to the decision making.

How do you decide how many episodes there will be in a season/how many courses are played on the trip? Do shifts in the YouTube algorithm force you to adjust the quantity and length of episodes or is the focus solely on storytelling without any concern for the metrics?

All of seasons 2-7 were 9-12 episodes (most around 10), then Scandinavia and Australia V2 are both down to 8 episodes. However, the episodes are so much longer now than earlier seasons that I assume this season’s total run time will be the second longest, with Oregon holding the title.

How much are you paying in checked baggage fees, or is status taking care of it?

I’m confused why people were apprehensive about the little plane. Small planes aren’t any more dangerous than big ones. It wasn’t even single engine! Totally fine. A bit more turbulence, sure.

Liftoff in a small plane is one of the coolest feelings I have ever experienced in my life.

People are often afraid of what they don’t know!

Not many people find themselves in situations where they have to fly Supercubs or the like.

Think it’s also just a psychological thing, it’s why people feel safer in bigger SUVs than they do in an early 00’s Corolla.

Although idk if the same calculus applied when it comes to planes. That falls out of the sky, no matter the size, you’re likely finished. Expectation set that going into any flight and you’re golden!

Believe it’s generally defined as “use your best judgement, and don’t be a scumbag.”

I don’t think they played Tara Iti as a group, and that was one of Tron’s solo journeys before the Tourist Sauce trip.

I think they left off “mainland” Tasmania this time so they could do a purely Tasmania Tourist Sauce once 7 Mile Beach, 5 Mile beach and Arm End golf course all get built in the coming couple of years…

I just noticed that the “Executive Producers” of Tourist Sauce are @Tron and @djpie - I have an idea what this means in movies (often securing funding and such) but unclear what it means here. Can you guys provide insight on what that means in the TS world?

Think it just means they’re shorter than more “traditional” producers. Doesn’t mean they can’t be fun though.

I heard they were even just coming back to Tassie and not playing any golf…

And I think Randy went to Tara Iti, separately, afterwards when he did ~10 days in NZ.

A little bit of flexibility-oriented yoga or similar goes a long way. I think the passive body massage gun stuff is not nearly as effective as intentional active stretching and movement.
