I cannot imagine a cooler place, and I have a great imagination. I would genuinely pay a membership fee just to get the unedited drone footage of that place.
So Ireland 2021 anyone?
Ireland annually
That was a biblical experience
Ireland 2021 is a lock if we donāt do Ireland fall 2020. Got some connects on the far side willing to hook us up.
Bloody hell, that episode was insane. Iāve never seen a golf course like that before. Incredible stuff.
The editing was special. @rmattgolden and @djpie and @everyone else, bravo. When the voiceovers cut out and the music got real and the 10th hole low drone flyover revealed that green it was an absolutely joyful experience
Can a course be number 1 on your list again even if youāve played it because thatās what just happened watching that video.
Spiritual doesnāt even come close.
I tried to find a gif to put here but nothing I could find seemed appropriate.
The dunes, the ocean, the light, the music, the camaraderie, the background of the place, the Guinness.
It was perfection
First time I have cried with a golf video, and it took a whole 45 seconds until @TomCoyne said: āā¦itās the golf course⦠itās the memories of being there with my dadā¦ā I will come back to this for decades to come. Thank you @djpie and everybody who made it possible. The par 3 Kilmore #2 with the massive dune with open sand is a place that comes back in my dreams from time to time (of course, my dad hit it very high in the dune so I have great photos/videos of him trying to get out of there).
All the right things were said (community, natural,ā¦) and @MerchCzar mentioned āa hikeā. For me, at many places it felt like being allowed to play golf in a National Park. And in the US, with roads inside the parks, it may not mean much, but in Europe, they are usually semi-sacred grounds that you can only walk and try not to disturb. Itās a truly magical place.
PS Also @MerchCzar obviously has good taste with the merch. He is wearing the one i bought!
Iāll be doing 72+ holes in 72 hours at some point this year. Anyone is welcome to join as long as they keep up. Plan is to fly Thursday night, play 2 rounds a day until Sunday night, and then get back to the US in time for work Monday. Itinerary TBD.
I played Carne just over 10 years ago. This episode nailed and there was not a single statement made that was hyperbole. That golf course is an absolute blast.
We walked and had to let some locals play through as they were playing in a cart. They stopped and chatted with us for a while. Super nice people!
And, we walked 36 holes there. First day of the trip and I thought I wouldnāt be able to finish the trip.
Everything that was said about Carne made me think of BCNā¦I know they are not the same ā¦but maybe not as far off as we think. I have never been to eitherā¦but I feel like if you removed the Course namesā¦the descriptions and regaled memories, and stories of construction by hand are interchangeable.
Yikes. Letās toss this one in the cold takes bin.
From someone who LOVES BCN,
#11
Carved with shovels in their spare time
Built with bake sales and raffles
In the middle of nowhere
Every person that shows up matters
One of the most unique experiences you could ever have
when framed that way i can get on board
and one day BCN could have an 11.
I know what you are sayingā¦Iām not ashamed to say that footage from the boys got me aroused and I hope to be so lucky one day and get to see that place.
lol
i was signing it BCN member #11 just to be clear i wasnāt throwing any shade at it. no offense to BCN, no offense to anyone.
HAHAHA! niceā¦I missed it.
This was so good. Almost a religious experience. This mightāve bumped LaHinch from my favorite episode spot. So many moments. And the scenery - unbelievable.
Just a couple of shots I had to save, but there were dozens of moments.
āThereās no way someone actually hit it up thereā¦ā
āIf Carne was a band, it would be Pearl Jam.ā
