A true can’t have a big comeback if you’re not down a lot
For merch orders. I’m finalizing the placing the order at the end of the week.
Guys,
I think I’ve found it.
Event season is Wisconsin is officially upon us (s/o @PTM and the Burban). One more week to sign up for the major before it opens up the waitlist.
As of right now we are accepting sign ups for those that are on board with qualifying for a roost regional spot. We also have an NIT spot for this event and we’re still working on how to award that.
Sign up will be open through April for those that want to qualify for regionals. If that’s not you, throw yourself on the waitlist and I’ll move everyone off on May 1.
Sneak preview, we will be changing the regional qualification process next year to a season long points situation a la what a handful of other roosts are doing.
Just a couple quick announcements -
Merch - hats should be done this week (finally). If you’re (a) not local and (b) ordered both a polo and a hat, I’ve been waiting to ship everything at once. If you’re local and don’t have your polo yet hit me in the DMs.
MAJOR SZN - The BOF is quickly approaching (Saturday, June 15). We still have a couple of spots free. When @midwestgolfbum and the Ope stop hogging all the spotlight, I’ll start locking in payments (probably next week). It’s going to be $20 paid to me now to lock in your spot, which will 100% go to charity. Then you pay the course day of like any normal round (private club guis hit me up in the DMs and I’ll walk you through how this works), rates:
NIT spot and 4 regional team spots up for grabs and with the current glacial pace we’re seeing on The Ope waitlist, those regional team spots are increasing in value at crypto levels.
Lastly, the charity is something that is deeply personal to me and I will not be discussing it here. Not trying to be dramatic, it just touches close to home, I’d prefer it be kept in house, and I will give a big sobby explanation in person at the event.
No
Wait, this was how easy it was to get out of this?!
Help
Ready to roll
I’m really excited for the major, but I’m really not excited to try and get everyone to sign up for Unknown Golf, so I’m just going to plead. Please just sign up. It’s required to participate and makes my and @midwestgolfbum’s life much much easier.
If you don’t sign up, I’m changing your score so you win @TTrentC’s secret prize.
Is Soul Boxer OK? Asking for a friend.
No.
Strokes gained old fashioned will be a valuable metric for the major.
We’re officially a month out from the major, which means time to get organized.
Major is at Washington County Golf Course, Saturday June 15, tee times start at 10am, end at 12pm, cost is green fees which you will pay the course directly the day of. To reserve your spot, you must pay me the nonrefundable $20 as a charitable contribution (charity disclosed in the discord) to me no later than 4pm on Friday June 7 to confirm your spot in the major. At that time, I will be calling WashCo. to cancel any unused tee times and you’re shit out of luck. Rates are here and are a choose your own adventure in that I don’t care if you walk or ride, but if you slow pace of play you will be publicly shamed across the refuge.
I will not be entertaining any pairing requests. If you have schedule restrictions due to travel or family obligations please let me know. I will do my best to accommodate those. Everything else will be ignored.
My venmo information is in the sign up sheet spreadsheet
Again, please sign up for Unknown Golf NOW. Unknown Golf. This is required to participate in the event. Do not make @midwestgolfbum and I chase you down to do this. We won’t be happy.
What’s at stake - eternal Supper Club glory, an NIT spot, 4 regional team qualification spots for the premier refuge event of the season The Ope, a couple pats on the back, maybe I’ll buy you a drink if you win?
Lastly, and I say this only to manage expectations and not throw shade anywhere else. TSC leadership has made the decision to keep the major costs down. We don’t have any tee gifts or merch associated with the event. We’re donating to charity and playing golf together at an excellent Wisconsin track and that’s it. In the coming days I will be announcing a very small auction to benefit the charity, but this is the extent of what to expect at the major.
@midwestgolfbum and I will be on site this weekend for a scouting trip and to decide on format. We need to see exactly what we’re working with, so don’t ask me about format.
TLDR - pay me $20 by June 7, join UKG, profit.
Oh, and we have room for 4 more right now according to the sheet. Although I suspect some will drop.
So if you have any non-nest members you want to bring as a recruiting effort, feel free to throw that on the sheet.
BUMP, but I have to move this up to June 5.
How’s the course rollin?
Wet wet wet, they had a string of storms Tuesday night.
