Possibly a category where you can sell/buy peoples clubs they don’t use anymore?
Whatever buyer and seller agree on? Kind of like the facebook thing but knowing where and who the clubs are coming from

Let’s increase the number of flags required to delete a post. That a) lowers the “violation” required for a flag while also b) increases the size of the required audience

Ok I made a few tweaks to the flagging settings, so we can try them out for a little while and see how things go.
- You need to have a trust level of at least Member to flag posts now.
- Lowered the likelihood that a flagged post is hidden.
These two things should (hopefully) still allow for legitimate flagging to take down garbage, but should reduce the number of posts that get hidden by petty flags. I’ll keep an eye on things over the next week or two on this front and we can tweak things more if necessary.

Haven’t had a chance to read this whole thread yet, but could we get a paid membership tier to support better hosting? Feels like I get a spinning circle or page couldn’t load at least a dozen times a day. I’d be happy to chip in a few bucks a month to support if we could get better hosting. Perhaps just a “supporting member” flag on a users name/profile, similar to the blue twitter check?
I don’t think we’d need any special access or features, just a way to show our appreciation for the work the NLU guys do and the great community they’ve built.
I would be glad to support. However, what browser are you using? I browse mostly on my iPad and occasionally on my laptop with MS Edge and don’t remember ever having a page not load.
Safari, on MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone. Happens on all 3, takes a few refreshes to load a few times a day
Case in point: this is the 3rd time I am trying to post this comment. The first 2 times, i just got a spinning wheel when saving. I had to refresh the page (server not found), then a 2nd refresh reloaded the thread.
It might help if you close the million browser windows you have open. 
I post photos from my iPhone to The Refuge with no issues. My iPad is almost as fast as my brand new laptop. So, unless a bunch of other people have issues, it might be something on your end.

Never had issues. iPhone/2014 MBA (not exactly a compute workhorse) Safari and PC with Firefox or chrome.
The discourse forum software is so good.
This is the best community / forum software I have ever used. It is amazing.
Also, I have been impressed with the performance of the site across multiple computers and my phone.

Yeah sorry to say, but this sounds like something is afoot on your end. I keep a pretty close eye and have all sorts of annoying alerts set up for how we’re doing in terms of system resources, and after the last upgrade we’ve consistently had more than enough headroom.
Really glad to see someone else notice this, cause that team deserves a ton of credit. I’ve honestly been blown away by how nice they’ve made life in terms of maintenance and staying up to date.
As said above, “better hosting” doesn’t appear to be the issue here, but I’ve been exploring options for something along these lines. The details on what that gets you and such is above my pay grade, so The Bosses™ need to make that call, but technically speaking this is something we can definitely do. Just as an informal poll, if this was done via something like Patreon would that be interesting?

Has anyone else been finding their account logged out repeatedly the past two days? I’ve been logged in on my iPhone and iPad and never had an issue until yesterday when my account logged off for some reason. It continues to do so every hour or so.

Definitely for me. Already supporting a couple of youtube channels my wife and I follow on Patreon, so it would be an easy choice to add NLU to the subscription.

If it started recently that might be due to a flurry of updates I installed last night and this morning, but I’d be surprised since I haven’t noticed any issues with my session on desktop. Does this seem to only happen on your mobile devices?
