@Shank-Ri-La, looking at your pictures, I inadvertently posted the photo of the flags on Instagram without attributing the photo to you. I apologize.
No worries. Good to meet you down there. Hope to do it again soon!
I jumped right Into Dad mode and a nice bottle of red when I got home yesterday. Iāll have a recap and such out this evening sometime.
Every Refuge meetup is great but this one was especially so, given that I had been looking forward to it for something like 7 months now and it managed to live up to those expectations. Amazing job @LukeBoatright and great to meet a whole mess of new Refugees along with seeing some of the old pals!
The naner has spoken!!!
Guis,
Honestly I donāt have any other words besides THANK YOU! An event that was supposed to be in May and the pause in the golf world we had to still happen in October and be as much fun as it wasā¦just so much fun!
Events are only successful because of the people who show up and bring a golf sicko mentality that you all did. I knew quite a few of you all but getting to meet a lot of new guis was a highlight of my day. I can assure you if you walked up to me today I still wouldnāt remember your name because my brain was absolute mush most of the first half of Saturday as @tigergolftraveler can attest. Speaking of Mr. Travler. A HUGE thanks to him, @Churchie and @drv4show for their help making the day the roaring success that it was. A big thank you to @Double_Bogey_Dave for being a great sounding board for ideas and suggestions. The biggest of thanks to @Randy for coming up from Jax and Tron for sending him with some great stuff to give away.
Honestly the biggest THANK YOU! Goes to Jim McNair and the staff at Aiken Golf Club. I hate that he was so busy that day working that he didnāt get a chance to speak to the group. His love for the course and hosting an event like this is just special. Changing of the pins and tees between rounds to show you a different view of the course was all his idea (well except the pin on 10ā¦that was me ) Please if you ever get a chance go back and support them and tell everyone you know just how great that place is.

Whatās the big deal with that pin on #10? I parred it and @EZmiss made it irrelevant with a smooth birdie.
great players donāt have a problem with tough pins.
what were the skin holes/scores?
Damn someone cancelled my eagle on #13, alright who was it?
Edited to add you. Forgot the first go round.
Mine were on 4 and 16
Birdies on 1, 4, 8, 10, 14, 16 eagle on 13
Wow 10 and 14?

this is what happens when my brain isnāt working and you add on late. My bad dude.
@CSquared07 one of your skins should have been pushed. Donate that skin to Charity.
I am not going back through and trying to get money back from people to redo them.
No worries at all. I take full responsibility for my tardy entry and your accommodation was second to none.
@ColoniusFunk fuck yeah dude
Shoutout to @LukeBoatright, @tigergolftraveler, @Churchie, @drv4show for an outstanding day. I canāt say it enough, if anyone is on the fence about attending one of these things, donāt be. To quote the greatest treehugger of our day, āFor the love of golf, Go!ā
From the biscuit start, diving into the awesome layout of Aiken with @gatorz7888 and @elcid83 was a great loop with some great guys showing me the way around the course, solid lunch and blind draw afternoon was such a good time, @CSquared07 and I ham & egged it around the course for a solid 74 in alt-shot/best ball. Enjoyed the company of @RangerB & @Myersisabitch. Then shutting down the place with sunset over the putting course with more people than I can tag here while clearing out the cooler of brews was just outstanding.
I agree with Lukeās assessment, the Aiken staff was top notch and genuinely seemed to enjoy us being there (with the exception of the halfway house closing down for the afternoon, probably missed out on a LOT of cash there).
Looking forward to the next one. Cheers!
