shhhhhh. the clinton’s could be monitoring this site.
You missed my Missour-ee/Missour-uh comment. But I think we both hit on something inadvertently - Midwesterners don’t view Missouri as truly Midwestern, Southerners don’t view it as Southern. It’s just - Missouri. Dead in the damn center of the country, neither here nor there.
Until I joined the refuge I never heard one person ever say Missouri wasn’t a midwestern state! This blog is full of crazy people!
It’s all ESPN’s fault. I feel like region debates have really ramped up since college sports conference realignment.
Here in the Big 10 (20?) We used to say the Big 12 doesn’t exist. Hence the Missouri erasure.
My mom is from Michigan and my dad is from Indiana. When I was growing up in AZ/CA I thought the Midwest was only Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Always thought of the Dakotas, NE, KS, IA and MN as more Great Plains. It all seemed like utter hell to me regardless of how I classified it. Over time, I have matured and grown to love a lot about the Midwest, minus their winters. I also now recognize that most of the states I classified as the Great Plains are considered Midwest. I will say that both Missouri and Indiana feel more like a Mississippi vibe than most of their Midwest brethren.
Did you just delete my state from existence @Forty
MN and IA stand together against @Forty
Ok. Hes forgiven now.
FIXED GODDAMMIT
AT LEAST I DIDN’T COMPARE YOUR STATE TO THE HELLHOLE OF MISSISSIPPI.
(i have family in Mississippi, so I can say this)
Growing up in LA, I always considered Denver the Midwest, and everything east of the Mississippi was the East Coast
A friend of mine grew up in southern CA, went to school and has lived in the Bay Area his entire adult life. It’s a fun game to have him attempt to identify states and their locations.
I feel attacked.
Leave @Forty alone, we want need him to come back!
Respectfully, I’m sure you are in this camp. But it’s not.
Fall golf is here! Current weather and teeing off in 45 minutes. I legitimately debated wearing shorts because I’m not ready to accept the season is over in a month. And it’s definitely a warm 38.
Had that same debate with myself yesterday, 42° at tee time.
It was warm yesterday once we got moving. Shorts might actually not be that bad there.
