It’s only 3 more quota points for me to move up, which is going to be easier than finding 40 yards.
Cool.

I call that the Jimmy. @tigergolftraveler
I’ve cold topped my drive off of the first tee at the Links probably 75% of the times I’ve played there. For now my strategy is just getting it into the air (and not the parking lot).
Ahh yes, Crisco on a chunk of memory foam. Just like grandma used to make.
You leave @PTM out of this
This kinda actually happened last year.
Where do you think I got that idea from?
Aim at the green and swing hard with the driver - draw helps pull it back a bit and usually end up with 110-120 in with a good angle
Go with the strategy from the big guy and hit the club with the biggest face of the 1st tee
Ok Mr Dole, here ya go:
-Competitiveness: mostly a chameleon here, whatever the situation calls for. I’m my number one critic like a lot of people, so internally it’s like a 8/10. Externally, I’ll do whatever is required by the situation. Have some club-level bonafides if anyone needs to know if I can hang when the lights get bright.
-prefer? Walk. Reality? I’m damn near 40 and ride probably 90% of my rounds. It doesn’t help that Missouri humidity is real and our course is a typical residential community course that is basically unwalkable. However, I walk almost every round at our place in KS and do think that is the only way to truly appreciate it.
-230 out: 5 wood, stock. Chances of execution?
But really, I’m comfortable in my ability to hit shots tee to green. Around/on the green? Ehhhhhhh.
-perfect Sunday: wake up whenever the body wants (perks of the childless life), coffee, early morning golf on tv (Irish Open at RCD or Lahich perhaps?), then a walk with my wife and dog at the local state park. Quick lunch followed by an afternoon 5-ball with my usual crew. Finish the evening with some gringo tacos and couple cold ones hanging out on our screened in porch because for some reason it’s 70 deg in July.
If the grass is cut down again I’m blowing it way right of the fairway and having 90 in with a great angle into the green, just like I did last year.
Also fastest pre shot routine in the West.
It’s aspirational
Pre shot routine? Never heard of it.
I thought I was fast with the ol PSR until I played with Dan.
This seems to be a common theme. Sounds like I need to just try to bully the first 3 holes and hang on through 7.
The first 3 are easy. 2 you aim much further right than you think you should and hit driver. 3 you just hit it over the bunker on the right. It’s 3, driver → flip wedge holes.
Caveat being as I said above about swinging too hard.
