Especially compared to the other 17 greens (except maybe 12?) it’s incredible how small that green is (#8).
But in four rounds I’m 6 over on 8 lol.

Given how stubborn he is it might take another 10 trips to figure it out.
It was hilarious to watch reality hit him in real time.
But which is worse? Him being ignorant, incredibly overconfident and attempting a dumb shot or me knowing how hard the hole is and still attempting a dumb shot?
On Sunday, I pulled a gw just a little bit left. It was on the green, but far from the hole. But still, I hit that green, which felt like an accomplishment. When I hit the uphill put off the green my brain was in shambles. Bogey was a miracle.
Also, my flight was delayed 4 hours, but I have the exit row to myself. We’re gonna call that a wash.
It probably doesn’t feel as good given the putt but I’m sure you’d take bogey prior to teeing off.
After @NightTrainLane hit his first putt on hole 9 on Sunday I legitimately asked if he was being serious.
After getting punched in the dick by my oldest son’s youth sports schedule the past two days a couple of days to recover I felt the need to come in and gush about how fun this past weekend was. I’ve played Landmand before, and absolutely love the course, but that was by far the most fun I’ve had “up top” by a long shot. @UHeardAboutPluto @MrHogan5 and @Finnesotan_47 were a great first group and it was inspiring to see someone WALK that course. Putting contest (or whatever we want to call that) with the GPGC herd on Saturday evening was so fun. @ikeformayor and @BTfromDelta were the perfect morning round pairing on Sunday and the ride to/from Landsmeer with @Whitebro was confirmation of just how damn cool he is. Chasing daylight that evening and hitting putter off the 8th tee with Eric @jdefran and @JwG3 was a great way to finish. I may just take putter there from now on.
People always look at me a little sideways when I try to explain what events like this are. There’s no good way to encapsulate the energy and camaraderie that exists.
I had a big paragraph written about how amazing this weekend was, but I don’t want to waste everyone’s time. In short - thank you @bignanski for allowing my friend, uncle and pops into this event. When I joined the refuge (and the Rohlers) I pictured of these types of weekends. I’ve developed a golf game good enough, for me, to justify travelling with it. This sport allowed me to play with my 93 year old gpa and lose to my 68 year old father. My buddy has been going through some stuff and this weekend gave him a chance to get away and smile. It just was a special weekend.
Also should be noted I was about 27 strokes better this weekend than last year at the same event. My handicap officially dropped into the 12s and I shot my second ever sub 40 9 hole stretch - set my lowest “difference” with my 83 on Sunday. Was just an awesome weekend - and I continue to pinch myself with how lucky of a life I have
I thoroughly enjoy wasting people’s time. You should give it a try.
I’m paying for the privilege of having my time wasted.
Here I sit with golf shots and fantastically beautiful golf holes swimming through my head as I listen to KVV on the NLU pod. I feel so grateful to have met most of you and to take part in such an incredible event. Hats off to you and your crew @bignanski and everyone who made the event what it was!! Hugely happy right now. I do believe it’s folks like you guys that lifts this game up and elevates to the heights it has reached!!
So blah blah blah everyone had a great time……but was the hotdog at the turn new and improved or the same disappointment as 2024?
From the man on the ground @Finnesotan_47.
That does not look like an improvement at all.
No it didn’t seem like it. I avoided that. I’d be curious to hear how many hot dogs were bought those two days.
Turkey Swiss wrap was good though.
Cold cut (I think it was pepperoni/salami/pepperjack) was fine.
Unless my memory is clouded (plausible), @chefcycle had a hot dog and it looked like it should have taken a blue pill a few hours prior.
Maybe it had already consulted a physician?
