Only bad shot of the day.
I had an absolute blast with everyone I played golf with this weekend. I cant believe how much this community has changed my life since I randomly joined the refuge while procrastinating some work late at night during covid. This weekend was the perfect combination of playing with people I see and play with all the time, people Ive always wanted to meet and hang out with, and people I havent seen in 5 years. I had a blast with everyone I got to golf with, be jealous of this list cause its elite: @lazyjk, @Very.chipper, @GentlemanJim, @BigTex, @ReallyFatPat, @jsauce, @MS32 and @nickg43. We got into this community because of golf, but the reason these events are memorable is the 4 hours after all my golf was done, spent sitting on the patio, ripping heaters (Yes Ive fallen off the wagon a bit), shooting the shit and hearing multiple people come in with career best finishes/rounds. The golf is good but the people are great.
Ya what @kcurry11 said. One of the employees told me they use 4 greens mowers daily, which is sick.
View from my 4th shot. Probably one of my favorites I hit that day. Directly over the flag to 15 feet. Gladly walked off with bogey after seeing that pin.
That putt from on top of that hill was one of the best shots I saw all weekend. Thought for sure it was a spot of death.
It certainly had the potential to end up an 8-iron away from the pin if it had gone wrong.
I just want to say that I had 5 really awesome playing partners this weekend. Alex, Drew, Brian, Jesse and Tom. Really enjoyed playing with you.
My man! Congrats dude, so stoked for you.
Apologies for being a day late here, but I think my old man (non-Refuge member) would win this.
I believe he picked up on stroke 12 after thinking there was no way such a short hole could be so difficult.
FINE I’ll come next year.
All mad props to Josh Allen for winning this the same weekend he got married.
Fuckin shoutout @flanwilder for this gem. Thing kicks ass.
Well, my “add on a trip to Kansas to see my Mom and Brother” plan isn’t going as smoothly as I hoped.
I respect his tenacity but am afraid he might still be in there if you hadn’t advised him to pick up.
100% correct. Thankfully he accepted that picking up was ok.
He tried to play it much more cautiously the second day and still ended up in the same situation. Picked up after 6.
I felt like @MackReiter was missing some sweet facial hair
Sounds like he might need a couple more goes at it next year
To echo everyone else on here, this past weekend was incredible. Thank you to everyone who came out and had a blast, bought a metric shit ton of merch, played some golf, and enjoyed a few cold drinks. It was so nice meeting many of you for the first time, getting to know people I’ve meet before better, and enjoying a few days with this awesome group. One of my favorite memories was driving around the course on Sunday picking up the tee markers and seeing so many people having a fucking blast, regardless of how they were playing. To @chefcycle @ReallyFatPat @jsauce @BTfromDelta @Perry4234 @billythekid y’all were a fucking blast to play with. @drewp thanks for the great hang in the cabins and helping me bottle kill the McKenna 10 year BiB and talking life. @bignanski @kcurry11 you already know how I feel about you, no need to reshare.
See most of you at the Ope and definitely next year for Cornstalk 3!
Haha he was so confident on the tee that it wasn’t that hard. He thought we were insane lol
